Product Overview
The DIGITEN DTC102 Temperature Controller is a versatile 2-stage plug-in thermostat designed for precise temperature regulation in various environments. It features both heating and cooling modes, making it suitable for applications such as homebrewing, fermentation, greenhouses, reptile habitats, and more. The device includes a sensor probe for accurate temperature tracking and an illuminated LED display for easy readability.
Key features include a wide control range of -40~248°F, plug-and-play operation with intuitive button controls, and safety features like high and low-temperature alarms. Its dual-socket output allows for independent control of heating and cooling devices, with customizable differential functions to protect connected equipment.
Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to set up your DIGITEN DTC102 Temperature Controller:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the temperature controller and its accessories from the packaging. Ensure all components are present: the main controller unit, the temperature sensor probe, and the power cord with dual outlets.
- Sensor Connection: Insert the temperature sensor probe into the designated port on the main controller unit. Ensure it is securely connected.
- Placement: Position the temperature controller in a suitable location. The unit features a "Hoke Design" eyelet tab at the top, allowing it to be hung for convenient installation and to keep cords tidy. Place the sensor probe in the area where temperature monitoring is required.
- Connecting Devices:
- Identify the "HEATING" and "COOLING" outlets on the power strip.
- Plug your heating device (e.g., space heater, heating pad) into the "HEATING" outlet.
- Plug your cooling device (e.g., fan, chiller) into the "COOLING" outlet.
- Power Connection: Plug the main power cord of the temperature controller into a standard electrical outlet (110V or 220V, depending on your model and region). The LED display will illuminate.

Operating Instructions
The DTC102 features a user-friendly interface with three buttons: SET, Up (▲), and Down (▼).
Setting Temperature (SV - Set Value)
- Press the SET button once. The "SV" (Set Value) temperature will start flashing.
- Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) buttons to adjust the desired temperature.
- Press the SET button again to confirm and save the setting, or wait a few seconds for it to save automatically.
Switching Between Fahrenheit (°F) and Celsius (°C)
To change the temperature unit:
- With the device powered on, press and hold the SET button for approximately 3 seconds until the display changes.
- Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) buttons to select between °F or °C.
- Press the SET button again to confirm your selection.
Setting Heating/Cooling Differential (HSP/CSP) and Compressor Delay
The controller allows for separate differential settings for heating (HSP) and cooling (CSP) to prevent rapid cycling of connected devices. It also supports compressor delay for refrigeration equipment protection.
- Press and hold the SET button for approximately 3-5 seconds to enter the advanced settings menu.
- Use the SET button to cycle through the parameters (e.g., HSP, CSP, compressor delay).
- Use the Up (▲) or Down (▼) buttons to adjust the values for each parameter.
- Once all desired settings are adjusted, wait for the display to return to the main screen, or press SET repeatedly until it exits the menu.
Alarm Functions
The DTC102 supports high and low-temperature alarms to notify you if the temperature exceeds or falls below your set range. Refer to the detailed instructions in the full user manual (PDF link provided in product documents) for specific alarm threshold settings.

Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your temperature controller.
- Cleaning: Disconnect the unit from power before cleaning. Wipe the exterior of the controller with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.
- Sensor Care: Keep the temperature sensor probe clean and free from debris. Avoid bending or damaging the probe cable. If used in liquids, ensure the probe is designed for such environments and clean it regularly to prevent buildup that could affect accuracy.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the controller in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your DIGITEN DTC102 Temperature Controller, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Display is blank or unit won't power on. | No power supply; loose connection. | Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a live electrical outlet. Test the outlet with another device. |
| Temperature reading is inaccurate. | Sensor probe is dirty, damaged, or improperly placed. | Clean the sensor probe. Ensure it is fully inserted into its port. Verify the probe is correctly positioned in the environment being monitored. |
| Heating/Cooling device not turning on/off. | Incorrect temperature settings (SV, differential); device not plugged into correct outlet; device malfunction. | Verify the SV (Set Value) and differential settings. Ensure the heating device is in the "HEATING" outlet and cooling device in "COOLING". Test the connected device directly in a wall outlet. |
| Alarm sounds frequently. | Alarm thresholds set too close to operating temperature; environmental fluctuations. | Adjust the high and low-temperature alarm thresholds to allow for normal temperature fluctuations. Ensure the environment is stable. |
| Error codes appear on display. | Sensor fault; internal malfunction. | Disconnect and reconnect the sensor probe. If the error persists, refer to the full user manual for specific error code meanings or contact DIGITEN customer support. |
