1. Product Overview

The Zlink ZL-PD-100 is a Z-Wave Plus certified plug-in dimmer designed to provide wireless control over incandescent, dimmable CFL, and dimmable LED lighting. It allows you to turn lights on/off and adjust brightness levels remotely via a Z-Wave hub or manually using the integrated button. This device is ideal for integrating standard lamps into your smart home system.

2. Important Safety Information

  • Read all instructions before installation and use.
  • Do not exceed the maximum wattage ratings: 300W Incandescent, 65W Dimmable CFL/LED.
  • Ensure the connected load is compatible with dimming functionality. Non-dimmable bulbs may be damaged or cause the dimmer to malfunction.
  • Unplug the device from the wall outlet before cleaning. Clean only with a dry cloth.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or repair the unit. There are no user-serviceable parts inside.

4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Physical Installation

  1. Plug the ZL-PD-100 dimmer into a standard 120V AC wall outlet.
  2. Plug the lamp or appliance you wish to control into the outlet on the front of the ZL-PD-100 dimmer. Ensure the lamp is turned ON if it has its own switch.

4.2 Z-Wave Network Inclusion (Pairing)

To add the ZL-PD-100 to your Z-Wave network, follow these steps:

  1. Place your Z-Wave controller/hub into Inclusion (Add) mode. Refer to your controller's manual for specific instructions.
  2. Press the control button on the front of the ZL-PD-100 dimmer once. The LED indicator will flash to confirm inclusion mode.
  3. The Z-Wave controller will confirm successful inclusion. The LED on the dimmer will stop flashing and remain solid if the light is on, or off if the light is off.
  4. If inclusion is unsuccessful, refer to the Troubleshooting section.

4.3 Z-Wave Network Exclusion (Removal)

To remove the ZL-PD-100 from your Z-Wave network, follow these steps:

  1. Place your Z-Wave controller/hub into Exclusion (Remove) mode. Refer to your controller's manual for specific instructions.
  2. Press the control button on the front of the ZL-PD-100 dimmer once. The LED indicator will flash to confirm exclusion mode.
  3. The Z-Wave controller will confirm successful exclusion. The LED on the dimmer will stop flashing.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Manual Control

  • Turn ON/OFF: Press the control button once to toggle the connected light ON or OFF.
  • Dimming: When the light is ON, press and hold the control button to cycle through brightness levels. Release the button when the desired brightness is reached.

5.2 Z-Wave Control

Once paired with a Z-Wave hub, you can control the ZL-PD-100 remotely using your hub's interface or associated mobile application.

  • Turn ON/OFF: Use the ON/OFF controls within your Z-Wave app.
  • Dimming: Use the dimming slider or controls within your Z-Wave app to adjust the brightness level.

6. Maintenance

The Zlink ZL-PD-100 requires minimal maintenance.

  • Ensure the device is unplugged before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or sprays.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures or humidity.

7. Troubleshooting
