  1. Placement: Position the AT9000 MK2 reader on a flat, stable surface near your computer. Ensure adequate space for document insertion and removal.
  2. Connect USB Cable: Connect one end of the provided USB cable to the USB port on the back of the reader and the other end to an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the power supply unit into the power input on the back of the reader, then connect the power adapter to a suitable electrical outlet. The device will power on automatically.
  4. Driver and Software Installation: Insert the provided software CD (if applicable) or download the latest drivers and SDK from the official Thales/Gemalto support website. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the necessary software.

The AT9000 MK2 is designed for efficient scanning of full-page documents, including passports and ID cards, utilizing visible, infrared (IR), and ultraviolet (UV) light, as well as RFID technology.

  1. Prepare Document: Open the passport or flatten the document you wish to scan. Ensure there are no obstructions or foreign objects on the document surface.
  2. Place Document: Carefully place the document face down onto the scanning platen. Align the document with the guides on the platen to ensure proper positioning. For passports, ensure the Machine Readable Zone (MRZ) is fully visible and flat against the glass.
  3. Initiate Scan: Use your application software to initiate the scanning process. The reader will automatically capture images under visible, IR, and UV light, and if applicable, read the RFID chip.
  4. Remove Document: Once the scan is complete and the software indicates success, carefully remove the document from the platen.
  5. RFID Reading: For documents with embedded RFID chips, the reader will automatically attempt to read the chip during the scanning process. Ensure the document remains stationary until the RFID reading is complete.
