To operate the Vansky 51 LED UV Flashlight, press the power button located on the body of the flashlight. For optimal results, use the flashlight in a dark environment.

4.1 Pet Stain Detection

The flashlight emits a 395nm UV wavelength, which causes dried pet urine and other organic stains to fluoresce, making them visible. This allows for targeted cleaning.

  • Avoid dropping the flashlight or subjecting it to strong impacts.
  • Do not shine the UV light directly into eyes or at others. UV light can be harmful to vision.
  • Store the flashlight in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  • If the flashlight will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent corrosion and damage.

6. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common questions and issues you might encounter.

6.1 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Why can't some cat urine be detected?
A: Pet urine contains phosphorus and protein, which fluoresce under UV light. If a cat's diet results in urine low in phosphorus, it may not be detectable by UV flashlights.
Q: Why is it important for the surface to be completely dry for detection?
A: The UV flashlight is most effective for detecting dry pet urine. Fresh or partially dry urine, high air humidity, or superabsorbent materials can weaken the fluorescence. For the most obvious results, allow stains to dry completely before inspection.
Q: The flashlight is not turning on or is dim.
A:
  • Check if the batteries are installed correctly with the correct polarity.
  • Ensure the batteries are fresh and fully charged.
  • Verify that the back cover is tightened securely and the spring is aligned.

Note: The ultraviolet LED black light works best in a dark environment. The darker the surroundings, the better the detection results.

Note: This device can only spot dried urine stains and may not work effectively on reflective surfaces or certain carpets with inherent fluorescence.
