3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Using the Fluid Head
The professional fluid head allows for smooth and precise camera movements.
- Pan Movement: To pan the camera horizontally (360°), loosen the pan locking knob (refer to Figure 2.4). Once the desired position is reached, tighten the knob to secure.
- Tilt Movement: To tilt the camera vertically (-75° to +90°), loosen the tilt locking knob (refer to Figure 2.4). Adjust the camera to the desired angle and then tighten the knob. The built-in damping system ensures smooth tilting.
- Pan Handle: The detachable retractable handle provides ergonomic control over pan and tilt movements. Adjust its length for comfortable operation.

4. Maintenance
Proper maintenance will extend the lifespan of your COMAN DV1000 tripod.
- Cleaning: Wipe down the aluminum legs and fluid head with a soft, dry cloth after each use. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and mild soap, then dry thoroughly. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Lubrication: The fluid head is factory-lubricated. Do not attempt to disassemble or lubricate the fluid head yourself, as this may damage the damping system.
- Storage: Store the tripod in its carrying bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Inspections: Periodically check all screws, bolts, and locking mechanisms for tightness. Use the provided hex wrenches to tighten any loose parts.
