4. First Use Burn-Off: Before cooking food, operate the oven empty for approximately 15 minutes at 400°F (200°C) to burn off any manufacturing residues. A slight odor or smoke may be present during this initial operation; this is normal. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.
5. Insert Crumb Tray: Slide the crumb tray into the bottom slot of the oven.

Operating Instructions

Toasting

1. Place items to be toasted directly on the wire rack. For best results, center the items.
2. Close the oven door.
3. Turn the Temperature Control dial to "TOAST".
4. Turn the Timer/Toast Control dial to the desired toast shade (Light, Medium, Dark). The pilot light will illuminate.
5. When the toasting cycle is complete, the oven will automatically turn off, and a bell will sound.
6. Carefully remove toasted items using oven mitts.

Baking

1. Place food on the baking pan and slide it onto the wire rack.
2. Close the oven door.
3. Turn the Temperature Control dial to the desired baking temperature (e.g., 350°F).
4. Turn the Timer/Toast Control dial to the desired baking time (up to 60 minutes). For longer cooking times, turn the dial past the 60-minute mark to the "Stay On" position. If using "Stay On", you must manually turn the dial to "OFF" when cooking is complete. The pilot light will illuminate.
5. When the timer reaches "OFF" or you manually turn it off, the oven will cease heating.
6. Carefully remove cooked food using oven mitts.

Broiling

1. Place food on the baking pan. For best broiling results, position the food closer to the top heating elements.
2. Close the oven door.
3. Turn the Temperature Control dial to "BROIL".
4. Turn the Timer/Toast Control dial to the desired broiling time (up to 60 minutes) or "Stay On". Broiling often requires close supervision. The pilot light will illuminate.
5. Monitor food closely to prevent burning.
6. When broiling is complete, turn the Timer/Toast Control dial to "OFF".
7. Carefully remove broiled food using oven mitts.
