Introduction

The LD Systems MIX 10 A G3 is a high-performance active 2-way loudspeaker designed for a wide range of sound reinforcement applications. Setup

1. Unpacking and Inspection

Carefully remove the MIX 10 A G3 from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit. The package should include the active 2-way loudspeaker and a power cable. If any components are missing or damaged, contact your dealer immediately.

2. Placement

The MIX 10 A G3 can be used in various configurations:

  • Floor Monitor: Position the speaker on its side using the integrated angle for use as a stage monitor.
  • Pole Mounting: The speaker features a 35mm pole mount socket for use with standard speaker stands.
  • Tabletop: Place the speaker on a stable, flat surface.

3. Power Connection

Connect the supplied power cable to the AC INPUT on the rear panel of the speaker and then to a suitable mains power outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the OFF position before connecting to power.

4. Audio Connections

The MIX 10 A G3 features a versatile input panel. Refer to Figure 3 for connection points.

  • Channels 1-3: XLR/TRS combo inputs for microphones or line-level instruments.
  • Channels 4/5: Stereo line inputs (TRS/RCA) for keyboards, media players, or other stereo sources.
  • Monitor Output: XLR output for sending the mixed signal to another powered speaker or monitor.
  • Speaker Output: Speakon output for connecting a passive extension speaker (e.g., LD Systems MIX 10 G3 passive).

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

After all connections are made, switch the POWER button on the rear panel to the ON position. The power indicator LED will illuminate. Always turn on the MIX 10 A G3 last in your audio chain and turn it off first to prevent pops and clicks.

2. Mixer Controls

The integrated 7-channel mixer provides comprehensive control over your audio sources. Refer to Figure 4 for a detailed view of the control panel.

  • GAIN: Adjusts the input sensitivity for each channel. Start with the gain low and gradually increase until the signal is strong without clipping.
  • EQ (HIGH/LOW): Tone controls for adjusting the treble and bass frequencies of each channel.
  • EFFECT: Controls the amount of effect applied to each channel.
  • LEVEL: Adjusts the individual volume of each channel.
  • MAIN LEVEL: Controls the overall output volume of the speaker.
  • DSP EFFECTS: Select from 16 built-in digital effects (e.g., reverb, delay) using the rotary encoder.
  • MONITOR LEVEL: Adjusts the volume of the monitor output.

3. Bluetooth Pairing

To connect a Bluetooth device (smartphone, tablet):

  1. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device.
  2. Press the BLUETOOTH button on the MIX 10 A G3 control panel. The Bluetooth indicator will flash.
  3. On your device, search for "LD Systems MIX 10 A G3" in the Bluetooth settings and select it to pair.
  4. Once paired, the indicator will glow solid, and you can stream audio wirelessly.

Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your MIX 10 A G3.

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but ensure no liquid enters the speaker grilles or control panel. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Troubleshooting
