This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your De'Longhi Magnifica ESAM04110S Fully Automatic Espresso Machine. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the appliance and keep it for future reference.

2. Important Safety Information
Always follow basic safety precautions when using electrical appliances to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons. This machine is designed for household use only.
- Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
- To protect against fire, electric shock, and personal injury, do not immerse cord, plugs, or appliance in water or other liquid.
- Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
- Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair, or adjustment.
- The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock, or personal injury.
3. Product Components
Familiarize yourself with the various parts of your espresso machine:
- Control Panel: Buttons and dials for operation.

4. Setup and First Use
4.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the machine from its packaging. Remove all packing materials, including any protective films or stickers. Ensure all accessories are present.
4.2 Initial Cleaning
- Wash the water tank, drip tray, and coffee grounds container with warm water and mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly.
- Wipe the exterior of the machine with a damp cloth.
4.3 Filling the Water Tank
Remove the water tank from the back of the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold water up to the MAX level indicator. Replace the tank securely.
4.4 Filling the Coffee Bean Container
Open the lid of the coffee bean container. Pour whole coffee beans into the container. Do not overfill. Ensure the lid is closed properly after filling.
4.5 Power On and Rinsing Cycle
- Plug the machine into a suitable power outlet.
- Press the power button (ON/OFF). The machine will perform an automatic rinsing cycle. Place a container under the coffee spouts to collect the water.
- Wait for the machine to complete the cycle and for the indicator lights to stabilize.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Adjusting Coffee Strength and Quantity
Use the two rotary dials on the front panel to adjust your coffee preferences:
- Coffee Strength Dial: Adjusts the amount of ground coffee per cup (from light to strong).
- Coffee Quantity Dial: Adjusts the volume of water for your espresso (from minimum to maximum).

5.2 Brewing Espresso
- Place one or two cups under the coffee spouts.
- Press the 1-cup or 2-cup button for your desired serving. The machine will grind the beans, brew, and dispense the coffee automatically.
- To stop brewing manually before the cycle completes, press the selected button again.
5.3 Using Pre-Ground Coffee
- Ensure the machine is on and ready.
- Open the ground coffee funnel lid.
- Add one level scoop of pre-ground coffee (do not use more than one scoop).
- Close the lid and immediately press the 1-cup or 2-cup button. The machine will brew using the pre-ground coffee.
5.4 Manual Cappuccino System (Frother)
- Prepare your espresso first.
- Fill a pitcher with cold milk (approximately 100ml for one cappuccino).
- Turn the steam knob to the steam position. Wait for the steam indicator light to illuminate steadily.
- Immerse the steam wand into the milk. Turn the steam knob to release steam and froth the milk.
- Once desired froth is achieved, turn the steam knob to the OFF position.
- Add the frothed milk to your espresso.
6. Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your machine.
6.1 Daily Cleaning
- Drip Tray and Coffee Grounds Container: Empty and clean daily. Wash with warm water and mild detergent.
- Water Tank: Rinse daily and refill with fresh water.
- Coffee Spouts: Wipe with a damp cloth.
- Steam Wand: After each use, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to remove milk residue. Purge steam briefly to clear any internal blockages.
6.2 Weekly Cleaning (Brew Unit)
- Turn off and unplug the machine.
- Open the service door and remove the brew unit by pressing the two red release buttons and pulling it out.
- Rinse the brew unit under running tap water until no coffee residue is visible. Do not use detergents.
- Clean the inside of the machine where the brew unit sits with a brush.
- Allow the brew unit to air dry completely before reinserting.
6.3 Descaling
The machine will indicate when descaling is required (usually by a specific light illuminating). Follow the instructions provided with your De'Longhi descaling solution. Descaling is crucial for maintaining machine performance and coffee quality.
7. Troubleshooting
