Setup and Assembly

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Ensure all parts listed in the Product Overview are present.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash all removable parts (bowls, lid, blades, discs, pushers) in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly, and dry. The motor base should be wiped with a damp cloth.
  3. Motor Base Placement: Place the motor base on a clean, dry, and stable surface.
  4. Bowl Assembly:
    • Place the Main Bowl onto the motor base, aligning it correctly until it clicks into place.
    • For smaller tasks, the Midi Bowl can be placed inside the Main Bowl, and the Mini Bowl inside the Midi Bowl.
  5. Blade/Disc Insertion: Select the appropriate blade or disc for your task. Carefully place it onto the central spindle within the assembled bowl.
  6. Lid Attachment: Place the lid onto the bowl, ensuring the feed tube aligns with the bowl's handle. Rotate the lid clockwise until it locks securely. The appliance will not operate unless the lid is correctly locked.

Operating Instructions

The Magimix 5200 XL features a simple three-button control system: STOP, AUTO, and PULSE.

General Operation:

  1. Ensure the appliance is correctly assembled with the desired bowl, blade/disc, and lid securely locked.
  2. Add ingredients to the bowl. For ingredients requiring the feed tube, use the pusher to guide them. Do not force ingredients.
  3. Plug the appliance into a suitable power outlet.
  4. Select the desired function:
    • AUTO: For continuous processing. The motor automatically adjusts power based on the load.
    • PULSE: For short bursts of power, ideal for chopping, mixing, or achieving desired consistency. Press and hold for operation, release to stop.
    • STOP: To halt operation.
  5. After processing, press STOP and unplug the appliance.
  6. Carefully unlock and remove the lid, then remove the blade/disc before emptying the bowl. Always handle blades with extreme caution.

Using the 3-in-1 Bowl System:

  • The three bowls allow for sequential tasks without needing to wash bowls between uses. For example, chop herbs in the Mini Bowl, then slice vegetables in the Midi Bowl, and finally mix dough in the Main Bowl.
  • Ensure the smaller bowls are correctly nested within the larger ones and the central spindle is properly engaged.

Specific Functions:

  • Chopping/Mincing: Use the main S-blade in the Main or Mini Bowl. Use PULSE for coarse chops, AUTO for finer results.
  • Slicing/Grating: Attach the desired slicing or grating disc to the spindle. Use the Midi Bowl for most tasks. Feed ingredients through the extra-large feed tube using the pusher.
  • Kneading: Use the dough hook in the Main Bowl. Add ingredients and use AUTO until dough forms.
  • Whipping: Use the whisk attachment in the Main Bowl for egg whites or cream.
  • Emulsifying/Mixing: Use the main S-blade. The BlenderMix ring on the lid helps push ingredients down for consistent results.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Magimix Food Processor.

  1. Always Unplug: Before cleaning, ensure the appliance is unplugged from the power outlet.
  2. Disassembly: Carefully disassemble all removable parts: lid, bowls, blades, discs, and pushers.
  3. Washing: All removable parts are dishwasher safe. However, to prolong their life, it is recommended to avoid the drying cycle in the dishwasher. Hand washing with warm soapy water is also effective. Always handle blades with extreme care due to their sharpness.
  4. Motor Base: Wipe the motor base with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the motor base in water or any other liquid.
  5. Drying and Storage: Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or storing. Store blades and discs safely in the provided accessory box.
