Control Methods

The LUBY HI5 can be controlled using three methods:

  1. On-Device Button: Press the power button on the robot to start or stop cleaning. Hold to power on/off. Double tap for Wi-Fi connect.
  2. Remote Control: Use the included remote for basic functions like starting/stopping, changing cleaning modes, and scheduling.
  3. Smartphone App: Download the dedicated app for advanced features including scheduling, cleaning mode selection, real-time monitoring, and integration with smart home systems like Google Home and Alexa.

Setup Guide

1. Charging Dock Placement

  • Place the charging dock against a wall in an open, uncluttered area.
  • Ensure there is at least 0.5 meters (1.6 feet) of clear space on either side of the dock and 1 meter (3.3 feet) in front.
  • Connect the power adapter to the charging dock and plug it into a wall outlet.

2. Initial Charging

  • Place the LUBY HI5 onto the charging dock, ensuring the charging contacts align.
  • Allow the robot to charge completely before its first use. This typically takes 4-5 hours. The indicator light will change when fully charged.

3. App Installation and Wi-Fi Connection

  1. Download the "Tuya Smart" app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Register an account and log in.
  3. Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
  4. Double-tap the power button on the robot to enter Wi-Fi pairing mode (the Wi-Fi indicator will flash).
  5. In the app, tap "Add Device" and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your LUBY HI5.

Operating Instructions

Starting and Stopping Cleaning

  • To Start: Press the power button on the robot, or the "Clean" button on the remote, or initiate cleaning via the app.
  • To Pause: Press the power button on the robot or the "Clean" button on the remote during operation.
  • To Stop: Press the power button on the robot or the "Clean" button on the remote twice, or use the app to send the robot back to the charging dock.

Cleaning Modes

The LUBY HI5 offers multiple cleaning modes:

  • L-Shape Cleaning: A specific pattern for efficient cleaning of larger rooms.

Scheduling

You can schedule cleaning times using the remote control or the smartphone app. The robot will automatically start cleaning at the programmed time.

Automatic Recharging

When the battery level is low (below 20%), the LUBY HI5 will automatically return to its charging dock to recharge. Ensure the charging dock is accessible and unobstructed.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your LUBY HI5. Always power off the robot before performing maintenance.

1. Emptying the Dustbin

  • Press the dustbin release button and pull out the dustbin.
  • Open the dustbin cover and empty its contents into a trash bin.

2. Cleaning the Filter

  • Remove the filter from the dustbin.
  • Tap the filter gently to remove dust. Do not wash the HEPA filter with water.
  • Replace the filter every 3-6 months, depending on usage.

3. Cleaning Side Brushes

  • Carefully pull the side brushes off their posts.
  • Remove any hair or debris wrapped around the brushes.
  • Reattach the brushes, ensuring they click into place.

4. Cleaning Sensors and Charging Contacts

  • Wipe the anti-drop sensors (located on the bottom of the robot) and anti-collision sensors (on the bumper) with a clean, dry cloth.
  • Clean the charging contacts on both the robot and the charging dock to ensure proper connection.
