4. Installation Guide
Follow these steps to install your PC components into the GAMEMAX Expedition case.
4.1. Preparing the Case
- Place the case on a stable, flat surface.
- Remove the side panels by unscrewing the thumbscrews at the rear of the case and sliding the panels off.
4.2. Motherboard Installation
- Install the I/O shield provided with your motherboard into the opening at the rear of the case.
- Align your Micro-ATX motherboard with the pre-installed standoffs. Ensure all screw holes on the motherboard align with the standoffs.
- Secure the motherboard using the appropriate screws from the accessory kit.
4.3. Power Supply Unit (PSU) Installation
- Position your ATX power supply unit in the dedicated compartment at the bottom rear of the case.
- Ensure the PSU fan faces downwards (if the case has a bottom vent) or upwards, depending on your cooling preference.
- Secure the PSU to the case using the screws provided with your power supply.
4.4. Storage Drive Installation
The case supports 2.5-inch SSDs and 3.5-inch HDDs.

Figure 4.1: Drive bay locations for 2.5" and 3.5" storage devices.
- For 3.5" HDDs: Slide the HDD into the drive cages located in the PSU shroud area. Secure with screws if necessary.
- For 2.5" SSDs: Mount the SSDs onto the designated brackets behind the motherboard tray or on top of the PSU shroud. Secure with screws.
4.5. Expansion Card (GPU) Installation
- Remove the necessary expansion slot covers from the rear of the case.
- Insert your graphics card or other expansion card into the appropriate PCIe slot on your motherboard.
- Secure the card with the retention clip or screw. The case includes a GPU bracket for additional support, preventing sag for larger cards.
4.6. Fan and Cooling System Installation
The case comes with one 120mm Red LED fan pre-installed at the rear. Additional fans can be installed for enhanced airflow.

Figure 4.2: Fan mounting locations (top and rear).
- Front: Supports 2 x 120mm fans.
- Top: Supports 2 x 120mm fans.
- Rear: Supports 1 x 120mm fan (one pre-installed).
For water cooling, the case supports radiators up to 240mm at the front.
4.7. Front Panel Connector Installation
Connect the front panel cables (USB 3.0, USB 2.0, HD Audio, Power LED, HDD LED, Power Switch, Reset Switch) to the corresponding headers on your motherboard. Refer to your motherboard manual for exact header locations.
5. Operation
Once all components are installed and connected, replace the side panels. Connect your peripherals and power cable, then press the power button on the top panel to start your system.
The case's design promotes optimal airflow. Ensure no obstructions block the intake and exhaust vents to maintain efficient cooling.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure optimal performance and longevity of your PC components.
6.1. Dust Filter Cleaning
The GAMEMAX Expedition includes a magnetic dust filter on the top panel to prevent dust accumulation inside the case.

Figure 6.1: Magnetic dust filter for easy removal and cleaning.
- Gently lift the magnetic dust filter from the top of the case.
- Clean the filter using compressed air or by rinsing it with water. Ensure it is completely dry before reattaching.
- Regularly check and clean the dust filter, especially in dusty environments, to maintain good airflow.
6.2. General Cleaning
- Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the exterior surfaces of the case.
- For the acrylic side panel, use a microfiber cloth and a mild, non-abrasive cleaner to avoid scratches.
- Periodically use compressed air to clear dust from internal components and fan blades.
7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your PC build, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:
- System Not Powering On: Double-check all power connections, including the 24-pin ATX, 8-pin CPU, and GPU power cables. Ensure front panel power switch cables are correctly connected to the motherboard.
- No Display Output: Verify that your graphics card is fully seated in its PCIe slot and that the monitor cable is securely connected to the graphics card (not the motherboard, unless using integrated graphics).
- Overheating: Ensure all case fans are spinning and oriented correctly for optimal airflow (intake at front/bottom, exhaust at rear/top). Clean dust filters and internal components regularly.
- Fan Noise: Check if fan cables are clear of fan blades. Ensure fans are securely mounted. Excessive noise might indicate a faulty fan or dust buildup.
- Loose Components: If you hear rattling, check that all installed components (motherboard, GPU, drives) are securely fastened with screws.
