Setup
1. Battery Installation and Charging
- Align the 1600mAh Li-Ion battery with the battery compartment on the back of the transceiver.
- Gently push the battery into place until it clicks securely.
- To charge, place the transceiver with the battery installed into the desktop charger. Ensure the charging contacts align.
- Connect the desktop charger to a power outlet. The charging indicator light will illuminate.
- Charge the battery fully before first use (approximately 4-5 hours). The indicator light will change when charging is complete.
2. Antenna Attachment
- Locate the SMA antenna connector on the top of the transceiver.
- Screw the provided antenna clockwise onto the connector until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten.
3. Belt Clip and Hand Strap Installation
- Attach the belt clip to the designated slot on the back of the transceiver using the provided screws (if applicable).
- Thread the hand strap through the loop on the top or side of the transceiver for secure carrying.
Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off and Volume Control
- To power on, rotate the top-mounted knob clockwise. The display will illuminate.
- Continue rotating the knob to adjust the volume.
- To power off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until it clicks.
2. Channel Selection
- Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys on the keypad to navigate through the 128 available channels.
- Alternatively, enter the desired channel number directly using the numeric keypad.
3. Transmitting and Receiving
- To transmit, press and hold the Push-to-Talk (PTT) button on the side of the transceiver. Speak clearly into the microphone.
- Release the PTT button to return to receive mode.
- Ensure you are on the same frequency/channel as the party you wish to communicate with.
4. Function Menu Navigation
- Press the MENU button to access the main menu.
- Use the UP/DOWN arrow keys to scroll through menu options.
- Press MENU again or ENTER to select an option.
- Press EXIT or BACK to return to the previous screen or exit the menu.
5. Keypad Lock
- To lock the keypad, press and hold the # key.
- Repeat the action to unlock the keypad.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the exterior of the transceiver. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Battery Care:
- Avoid overcharging or completely discharging the Li-Ion battery.
- Store the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use for extended periods.
- If the battery performance degrades significantly, replace it with an original CRT replacement battery.
- Antenna: Ensure the antenna is securely attached. Do not bend or force the antenna, as this can damage the connector.
