1. Setup

1.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the remote control from its packaging. Ensure no components are missing or damaged. The package should contain:

1.2 Battery Installation

The remote control requires two (2) AAA batteries (not included). Follow these steps to install them:

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
  2. Press down on the tab and slide the cover downwards to open the compartment.
  3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals align correctly with the markings inside the compartment.
  4. Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.

1.3 Initial Use

This Element Smart TV Remote Control is designed for immediate use with compatible Element Smart TVs. No programming or pairing is typically required. Simply install the batteries and point the remote towards your television.

2.1 Remote Control Layout and Functions

  • POWER: Turns the TV on or off.
  • MUTE: Mutes or unmutes the TV audio.
  • 0-9 (Number Pad): Directly enters channel numbers.
  • -: Used for entering sub-channels (e.g., 7-1).
  • RETURN/RECALL: Returns to the previous channel or menu.
  • YouTube, Google Play, DISCOVER, NETFLIX: Direct access buttons for these streaming applications.
  • MENU: Opens the main menu for TV settings and options.
  • SOURCE: Selects the input source (HDMI, AV, etc.).
  • Navigation Buttons (Up, Down, Left, Right): Navigates through menus and options.
  • OK: Confirms selections in menus.
  • BACK: Returns to the previous screen or menu.
  • EXIT: Exits the current menu or application.
  • VOL +/-: Adjusts the volume level.
  • HOME: Returns to the TV's home screen.
  • CH ^/v: Changes channels up or down.
  • Media Playback Buttons (Rewind, Play/Pause, Fast Forward, Stop): Controls media playback.
  • INFO: Displays information about the current program or input.
  • FREEZE: Pauses the current image on screen.
  • ADD/ERASE: Function for adding or erasing items, typically in specific menus.
  • FAV: Accesses favorite channels list.
  • V-CHIP: Accesses V-Chip settings for parental controls.
  • CC (Closed Caption): Toggles closed captions on or off.
  • MTS (Multi-channel Television Sound): Selects audio modes (e.g., Stereo, SAP).
  • P.MODE (Picture Mode): Cycles through picture presets (e.g., Standard, Dynamic, Movie).
  • S.MODE (Sound Mode): Cycles through sound presets (e.g., Standard, Music, Movie).
  • CH.LIST (Channel List): Displays the list of available channels.

2.2 Basic Operations

  • Power On/Off: Press the POWER button once to turn the TV on or off.
  • Channel Selection: Use the CH ^/v buttons to cycle through channels, or use the Number Pad to enter a channel directly.
  • Volume Adjustment: Press the VOL +/- buttons to increase or decrease the volume.
  • Source Input: Press the SOURCE button to cycle through available input sources (HDMI, AV, etc.). Use the Navigation buttons and OK to select.
  • Smart App Access: Press the dedicated YouTube, Google Play, DISCOVER, or NETFLIX buttons to launch these applications directly.
  • Menu Navigation: Press MENU to open the main menu. Use the Navigation Buttons to move, and OK to select. Use BACK or EXIT to return or close.

3. Maintenance

3.1 Cleaning

To clean the remote control, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a mild, non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the remote's surface or internal components.

3.2 Battery Replacement

Replace the batteries when the remote control's response becomes sluggish or stops working. Always replace both AAA batteries at the same time with new ones. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.

3.3 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, it is recommended to remove the batteries from the remote control to prevent leakage, which can cause damage. Store the remote in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
