3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charging

Before installation, fully charge your Google Nest Doorbell using the provided USB-C cable. A full charge ensures optimal performance from the start.

3.2 Download the Google Home App

The Google Home app is required for setup and operation. Download it from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store on your smartphone or tablet.

3.3 Mounting the Doorbell

Choose a suitable location near your front door. The doorbell can be mounted directly to a wall or door frame. Use the mounting plate as a template to mark drill holes. Secure the mounting plate with the provided screws and anchors. If an angled view is desired, use the optional wedge.

3.4 Pairing with the Google Home App

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap the + icon to add a new device.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect your Nest Doorbell to your Wi-Fi network and Google account.
  4. The app will guide you through customizing settings such as motion zones and notification preferences.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Live HD Video

Access a 24/7 live view of your doorstep through the Google Home app. This feature allows you to monitor activity at any time, from anywhere.

4.2 Two-Way Talk

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Charging

The Google Nest Doorbell is battery-powered. When the battery level is low, you will receive a notification via the Google Home app. To charge, detach the doorbell from its mounting plate and connect the provided USB-C cable to the charging port on the back of the device. Reattach once fully charged.

5.2 Cleaning

To maintain optimal performance, periodically clean the camera lens and the surrounding housing with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the device.
