Setup
1. Battery Installation
The camera requires 4 AA batteries. The included batteries are for demonstration purposes only. For regular use, it is recommended to install new, high-quality AA batteries.
- Locate the battery compartment on the camera.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
2. Memory Expansion (Optional)
The camera has 256 MB of built-in memory (shared with program data), which can store over 1500 photos or up to 9 minutes of video. To expand storage, you can use a microSD or microSDHC card (sold separately) with a capacity from 1 GB to 32 GB.
- Locate the microSD card slot on the camera.
- Insert the microSD/microSDHC card into the slot until it clicks into place.
- To remove, gently push the card in until it clicks, then release to eject.
Note: A 4GB microSD/microSDHC card can store approximately 41,900 photos or 220 minutes of video.

The rear of the camera features a 2.4-inch TFT color screen and intuitive controls for navigation.
Operating the Camera
1. Power On/Off
Press and hold the Power button (usually located on the side or back) to turn the camera on or off.
2. Taking Photos
The Kidizoom Duo Deluxe features both a front 5.0-megapixel camera and a VGA rear camera for selfies. A dedicated switching button allows for easy toggling between the two cameras.
- Select the camera mode from the main menu.
- Use the dedicated button to switch between front and rear cameras.
- Frame your shot using the dual viewfinders or the 2.4" TFT color screen.
- Press the Shutter button to take a photo.
- Explore special camera effects, frames, filters, stamps, and wacky effects to enhance your photos. The camera also features photo optimization, taking multiple shots and saving the best one.

The camera is designed to be easy for small hands to hold and operate.
3. Filming Movies
In addition to photos, you can record entertaining movies.
- Select the video mode from the main menu.
- Press the Record button to start and stop recording.
- You can apply effects while filming.
4. MP3 Player
The camera includes a built-in MP3 player, speaker, and headphones for listening to your favorite music.
- Transfer MP3 files to the camera's memory (or microSD card) via the USB cable.
- Select the MP3 player mode from the main menu.
- Use the controls to play, pause, skip tracks, and adjust volume.
- Plug in the included headphones for private listening.
5. Playing Games
The Kidizoom Duo Deluxe comes with 5 built-in games, some of which utilize motion controls.
- Select the Games icon from the main menu.
- Choose a game to play.
- Some games respond to shaking the camera to animate effects on screen.

6. Parental Game Controls
Parents can limit game play time or disable all games through the parental control settings. When games are disabled, the game sub-menu will be hidden from the main menu.
7. Connecting to a Computer
Use the included USB cable to transfer photos, videos, and MP3 files between the camera and a computer.
- Connect one end of the USB cable to the camera and the other end to a USB port on your computer.
- The camera will appear as a removable drive on your computer.
- Drag and drop files as needed.

Maintenance
1. Battery Life Preservation
The camera features an automatic shut-off function after 3 minutes of inactivity in camera or movie modes to conserve battery life. Always turn off the camera when not in use.
2. General Care
- Keep the camera clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Protect the lens and screen from scratches.
- While durable, avoid dropping the camera from excessive heights.
- Do not expose the camera to extreme temperatures or moisture.

Troubleshooting
Camera Not Turning On
- Ensure fresh AA batteries are correctly installed with proper polarity.
- Check the battery compartment for any signs of corrosion. If present, clean the contacts carefully and replace batteries.
- Press and hold the Power button for a few seconds.
Memory Card Not Recognized
- Ensure the microSD/microSDHC card is inserted correctly and fully into the slot.
- Verify the memory card is within the supported capacity range (1 GB to 32 GB).
- Try formatting the memory card (if it contains no important data) using a computer, then reinsert it.
Poor Photo/Video Quality
- Ensure the lens is clean and free of smudges or dust.
- Check lighting conditions; the camera performs best in well-lit environments.
- Ensure the subject is within appropriate focus range.
