3. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the smooth operation of your drawer slides. Follow these steps carefully.

3.1. Separating the Slide Members

Each drawer slide consists of three separable members: the cabinet member (outer), the intermediate member (middle), and the drawer member (inner). To separate the drawer member from the rest of the slide:

  1. Fully extend the drawer slide.
  2. Locate the release lever (usually a small plastic or metal lever) on the side of the intermediate member.
  3. Press or pull the lever (depending on the design) while simultaneously pulling the innermost drawer member forward until it detaches.

3.2. Mounting the Cabinet Members

The cabinet member is the largest part of the slide and attaches to the inside of your cabinet or drawer opening.

  1. Determine the desired height for your drawer. Mark a level line on the inside of the cabinet side panels where the bottom edge of the slide will rest. Ensure marks are identical on both sides.
  2. Align the cabinet member of each slide with your marked line. The front end of the slide should be flush with the front edge of the cabinet opening (or slightly recessed if desired for inset drawers).
  3. Using the provided screws, secure the cabinet member to the cabinet side. Use at least two screws in the elongated holes for initial adjustment, then add more screws in the round holes for final securement.
  4. Repeat for the opposite side of the cabinet.

3.3. Mounting the Drawer Members

The drawer member attaches to the outside bottom edge of your drawer box.

  1. Place the separated drawer member on the outside bottom edge of your drawer box. The front end of the slide should be flush with the front edge of the drawer box.
  2. Ensure the slide is parallel to the bottom edge of the drawer box.
  3. Secure the drawer member to the drawer box using the provided screws. Use at least two screws initially, then add more for full securement.
  4. Repeat for the opposite side of the drawer box.

3.4. Re-inserting the Drawer

Once both sets of slide members are mounted, re-insert the drawer into the cabinet.

  1. Align the drawer members with the intermediate members of the cabinet slides.
  2. Gently push the drawer into the cabinet. You should feel a slight resistance as the ball bearings engage.
  3. Push the drawer fully closed. You should hear a click as the soft-close mechanism engages and pulls the drawer shut.
  4. Test the drawer's operation by opening and closing it several times to ensure smooth movement and proper soft-close function.

4. Operating Instructions

Your Everbilt drawer slides are designed for effortless operation.

4.1. Opening the Drawer

Simply pull the drawer open. The full extension feature allows the drawer to extend completely out of the cabinet, providing full access to its contents.

4.2. Closing the Drawer (Soft-Close Function)

To close the drawer, gently push it inward. As the drawer approaches the closed position (typically within 1 to 2 inches), the integrated soft-close mechanism will engage. This mechanism will smoothly and quietly pull the drawer fully shut, preventing slamming and reducing wear and tear.
