3. Setup and Installation
The following steps detail the process of converting your Brayden Convertible Crib into a full-size bed. For a visual guide, please refer to the embedded video below.
Video 1: Official installation guide for the Delta Conversion Kit, demonstrating the crib-to-full-size bed conversion process.
- Step 1: Disassemble the Crib. Completely disassemble your Brayden Convertible Crib according to its original instruction sheet. Keep all bolts and the mattress support for future use. If your crib's footboard has removable legs, detach them from the side rails and attach them to the footboard as shown in the video (0:37).
- Step 2: Attach Bed Rails to Headboard. Position the headboard of your crib. Attach one end of each wooden bed rail to the headboard using two Allen bolts and washers per rail. Ensure the connections are secure (0:56).
- Step 3: Attach Bed Rails to Footboard. Position the footboard of your crib. Attach the other end of the bed rails to the footboard in the same manner as the headboard, using two Allen bolts and washers per rail. Verify all connections are tight (1:05).
- Step 4: Attach Support Slats. Place the four support slats evenly across the bed rails. It is recommended to place one slat near the headboard, one near the footboard, and space the others evenly in between. Secure each slat to the bed rails using the provided screws and a screwdriver (1:12).
Important Note on Mattress Support: The conversion kit requires mattress support. The included slats provide basic support. For optimal support and to forgo a box spring, an additional set of slats (sold separately) may be purchased to keep the mattress lower and provide full coverage (1:36). Alternatively, a box spring can be used, but this will result in a higher mattress profile (1:30).

Optional Safety Rail: For toddlers transitioning to a full-size bed, a safety bed rail guard (sold separately) can be attached to prevent falls while allowing easy access in and out of bed (1:41). Consider purchasing two for double protection.

4. Operation
Once assembled, your Brayden Convertible Crib is now a full-size bed. Place a standard full-size mattress (sold separately) onto the support slats. Ensure the mattress fits snugly within the bed frame. The bed is designed to support up to 600 pounds when used with adequate mattress support.

5. Maintenance
To maintain the longevity and safety of your converted bed, follow these guidelines:
- Regularly check all bolts and screws to ensure they remain tight. Loose hardware can compromise the bed's stability.
- Clean the wooden surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
- Inspect the slats periodically for any signs of wear or damage. Replace any damaged slats immediately to ensure proper mattress support.
6. Troubleshooting
Compatibility Issues: This conversion kit is specifically designed for the Brayden Convertible Crib by Delta Children. However, due to different models and production runs, it is possible that the brackets may not fit your crib perfectly.
