3. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your FJC 6846 Air Tool Hoses for use:

  1. Ensure the vehicle's engine and A/C system are turned off.
  2. Locate the low-side service port on your vehicle's A/C system. This port is typically smaller than the high-side port and may be marked with an 'L'.
  3. Connect the R-1234yf low-side quick coupler end of the FJC 6846 hose to the vehicle's low-side service port. Push down firmly until it clicks into place, ensuring a secure connection.
  4. Connect the can tap/dispenser connection end of the hose to your R-1234yf refrigerant can or dispenser. Ensure this connection is also tight to prevent leaks.
  5. Before piercing the can (if applicable), ensure the valve on the can tap is fully closed.

4. Operating Instructions

Once the FJC 6846 Air Tool Hoses are properly connected, follow these steps for refrigerant charging:

  1. Start the vehicle's engine and turn on the A/C system to its maximum cooling setting with the fan on high.
  2. Observe the pressure gauge on the FJC 6846 hose. The gauge provides real-time low-side pressure readings.
  3. Slowly open the valve on the refrigerant can tap/dispenser to begin introducing refrigerant into the A/C system.
  4. Continuously monitor the pressure gauge. The gauge is designed to help you achieve quick and accurate filling. Refer to your vehicle's service manual or the refrigerant manufacturer's instructions for target low-side pressure specifications.
  5. Shake the refrigerant can periodically to ensure proper flow.
  6. Once the desired pressure is reached, close the valve on the refrigerant can tap/dispenser.
  7. Turn off the vehicle's engine and A/C system.
  8. Carefully disconnect the low-side quick coupler from the vehicle's service port. Be aware that a small amount of refrigerant may escape during disconnection.
  9. Disconnect the hose from the refrigerant can.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the life of your FJC 6846 Air Tool Hoses:

  • After each use, wipe down the hose and fittings with a clean, dry cloth to remove any dirt or refrigerant residue.
  • Inspect the hose for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage before each use. Replace if any damage is observed.
  • Check the O-rings within the quick couplers for signs of wear or damage. Replace them if they appear brittle or flattened to ensure a proper seal.
  • Store the hose in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, to prevent material degradation.
  • Do not kink or sharply bend the hose during storage or use.
