3. Setup
3.1. Initial Charging
Before first use, fully charge the device using the provided power adapter. Connect the USB cable to the device's USB interface and the adapter to a power outlet. The charging indicator will typically show the charging status.
3.2. Inserting SIM Card (Optional)
- Locate the SIM card slot on the side of the device (refer to Figure 2.4).
- Carefully open the SIM card slot cover.
- Insert the SIM card into the slot with the metal contacts facing down, ensuring it is correctly oriented.
- Close the SIM card slot cover securely.
3.3. Loading Thermal Paper
- Locate the printer compartment at the top of the device.
- Gently push the release latch or button to open the printer cover (refer to Figure 2.5).
- Insert a new roll of 58mm thermal paper into the compartment, ensuring the paper feeds from the bottom and the leading edge extends slightly out of the printer slot. The roll diameter should not exceed 40mm.
- Close the printer cover firmly until it clicks into place.
3.4. Powering On/Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the power button (usually on the side) until the screen lights up.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the power button until a power-off menu appears on the screen. Select 'Power Off' and confirm.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Basic Navigation
The Sunmi V1 operates on an Android platform. Use the touchscreen for navigation, tapping icons to open applications, swiping to scroll, and using the on-screen navigation buttons (Back, Home, Recent Apps) at the bottom of the display.
4.2. Connecting to Wi-Fi
- From the home screen, swipe down from the top to access the quick settings panel, or go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi.
- Turn on Wi-Fi. The device will scan for available networks.

- Select your desired network and enter the password if prompted.
- Once connected, the Wi-Fi icon will appear in the status bar.
4.3. Using the Integrated Printer
The 58mm thermal printer is designed for quick and efficient receipt printing. When an application sends a print command, the printer will automatically activate. Ensure thermal paper is loaded correctly (refer to Section 3.3).
4.4. Using the Scanning Function
The Sunmi V1 features a side key for quick scanning. Depending on the application, pressing this key will activate the device's scanner to read barcodes or QR codes. Ensure the scanning application is open and ready to receive input.
5. Maintenance
5.1. Cleaning the Device
- Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to clean the exterior of the device.
- For the screen, use a screen-specific cleaning solution and a microfiber cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
- Regularly clean the printer head with a specialized thermal printer cleaning pen or isopropyl alcohol on a cotton swab to ensure optimal print quality.
5.2. Battery Care
- Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures.
- Do not allow the battery to fully discharge for extended periods.
- Use only the original or certified compatible charger.
5.3. Operating Environment
The optimal operating temperature for the Sunmi V1 is between 0°C and 40°C. Operating outside this range may affect performance and device longevity.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1. Device Not Powering On
- Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged. Connect the device to the charger and wait a few minutes before attempting to power on again.
- Check if the power button is stuck or damaged.
6.2. Printer Not Printing
- Verify that thermal paper is loaded correctly and that the roll is not empty.
- Ensure the printer cover is securely closed.
- Check the application settings to confirm that the print command is being sent.

- Restart the device and your Wi-Fi router.
