Setup

1. Mounting the Riflescope

The riflescope comes with a Picatinny mount. Ensure your firearm has a compatible Picatinny rail. Follow these steps for secure mounting:

  1. Loosen the screws on the Picatinny mount rings.
  2. Place the riflescope into the lower half of the mount rings, ensuring the reticle is level.
  3. Attach the upper half of the mount rings and hand-tighten the screws.
  4. Position the mounted scope on your firearm's Picatinny rail. Adjust for proper eye relief (typically >100mm) by sliding the scope forward or backward.
  5. Once the eye relief is set, tighten the mount screws evenly and securely. Do not overtighten.

2. Installing the Battery

The riflescope requires one VARTA CR2032 battery for reticle illumination.

  1. Locate the illumination control knob, usually on the left side of the main tube.
  2. Unscrew the battery cap.
  3. Insert the CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing outwards.
  4. Replace the battery cap and tighten it securely to ensure water resistance.

3. Attaching Lens Covers and Sunshade

Attach the provided objective and ocular lens covers to protect the lenses when not in use. The sunshade can be screwed onto the objective lens housing to reduce glare in bright conditions.

Operating the Riflescope

1. Magnification Adjustment

The riflescope offers a variable magnification range from 2x to 12x. Rotate the magnification ring, located near the ocular lens, to adjust the desired magnification level.

2. Diopter Adjustment

The diopter adjustment ring, located on the ocular lens, allows you to fine-tune the reticle focus to your individual eyesight. Look through the scope at a plain background (e.g., a clear sky) and rotate the diopter ring until the reticle appears sharp and clear. The adjustment range is typically +1.5 to -2.0 dpr.

3. Reticle Illumination

The VET-10BDC reticle features a continuously adjustable red dot illumination. Rotate the illumination control knob (where the battery is installed) to turn the illumination on/off and adjust its brightness. Start with the lowest setting and increase as needed for ambient light conditions.

4. Windage and Elevation Adjustment

The riflescope features lockable fast adjustment turrets for windage and elevation. Each click adjusts the point of impact by 1/4 MOA at 100 yards.

  1. Unlocking Turrets: Pull the turret cap upwards to unlock it for adjustment.
  2. Adjusting: Rotate the elevation turret (top) for vertical adjustments and the windage turret (right) for horizontal adjustments. Refer to the markings for direction (UP/DOWN, L/R).
  3. Locking Turrets: Push the turret cap downwards to lock it in place after adjustment. This prevents accidental changes.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Lenses

Use the provided cleaning cloth or a high-quality lens cleaning kit. Gently wipe the lens surfaces to remove dust and smudges. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the lens coatings.

2. General Care

  • Keep the lens covers on when the riflescope is not in use.
  • Store the riflescope in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Periodically check and tighten all mounting screws to ensure the scope remains securely attached.
  • The riflescope is nitrogen purged, making it fogproof, and is also waterproof and shockproof (up to 1000g). While durable, avoid unnecessary impacts.

Troubleshooting

  • Blurry Image/Reticle: Ensure the diopter adjustment is correctly set for your eye. Check that the objective and ocular lenses are clean.
  • Reticle Not Illuminating: Check if the CR2032 battery is correctly installed with the positive (+) side facing out. Replace the battery if it is depleted. Ensure the illumination knob is turned to an 'ON' position.
  • Inconsistent Point of Impact: Verify that the scope mount is secure and all screws are tightened. Check for any loose components on the firearm itself. Ensure proper shooting technique.
  • Fogging Inside Lenses: If internal fogging occurs, contact customer support. The scope is nitrogen purged to prevent this.
