6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Data Transfer (Online Mode)

Once the docking station is connected to your computer and powered on, the inserted drives will appear as external storage devices. You can drag and drop files, copy, paste, or perform any standard file operations as you would with any other external drive.

The USB 3.0 interface supports transfer speeds up to 5Gbps, ensuring fast data access and backup.

6.2. Offline Clone Function (Stand-alone Duplication)

The offline clone function allows you to duplicate a source drive to a target drive without needing a computer. This is ideal for system backups or upgrading to a larger drive.

Important Notes:

  • The target drive must be equal to or larger in capacity than the source drive.
  • All data on the target drive will be erased during the cloning process. Back up any important data from the target drive before proceeding.
  • Do not connect the docking station to a computer during the offline clone process.

Steps for Offline Cloning:

  1. Ensure Power Off: Make sure the docking station is powered off and disconnected from any computer.
  2. Insert Drives:
    • Insert the Source Drive (the drive you want to copy from) into Slot 1 (Source HDD).
    • Insert the Target Drive (the drive you want to copy to) into Slot 2 (Target HDD).
  3. Connect Power: Connect the 12V/3A power adapter to the docking station and plug it into a power outlet.
  4. Initiate Clone: Press and hold the Clone Button for approximately 3 seconds until the progress LEDs (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) begin to flash.
  5. Monitor Progress: The progress LEDs will light up sequentially to indicate the cloning status. Each LED represents 25% completion.
  6. Completion: When all four progress LEDs (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%) remain steadily lit, the cloning process is complete.
  7. Power Off and Remove: Turn off the docking station, disconnect the power adapter, and then safely remove the drives.

7. Maintenance

  • Keep the docking station clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Avoid blocking the ventilation openings to prevent overheating.
  • Always safely eject drives from your computer before powering off the docking station or disconnecting the USB cable to prevent data corruption.

8. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Solution
Drive not recognized by computer.
  • Ensure the drive is properly seated in the slot.
  • Check if the USB cable is securely connected to both the docking station and the computer.
  • Verify the power adapter is connected and the docking station is powered on.
  • Try a different USB port on your computer.
  • For new drives, initialize and format them via Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (Mac OS).
Slow data transfer speed.
  • Ensure you are using a USB 3.0 port on your computer. USB 2.0 ports will result in slower speeds.
  • Check the condition of the USB 3.0 cable. Try a different cable if available.
  • The speed of the drive itself (HDD vs. SSD) will affect transfer rates.
Offline clone fails or does not start.
  • Ensure the docking station is disconnected from the computer.
  • Verify the target drive's capacity is equal to or larger than the source drive's capacity.
  • Make sure both drives are properly inserted.
  • Press and hold the clone button for the required 3 seconds until LEDs flash.
Power LED not lighting up.
  • Check if the power adapter is securely connected to both the docking station and the power outlet.
  • Ensure the power switch is in the "ON" position.
  • Try a different power outlet.
