1. Important Safety Information
Read all instructions and warnings in this manual before using the Britax B-Free & B-Safe Ultra Travel System. Failure to follow these instructions could result in serious injury or death to your child.
1.1 Car Seat Safety
- The B-Safe Ultra Infant Car Seat is designed for rear-facing use only, for infants weighing 4 to 35 pounds (1.81 to 15.88 kg) and up to 32 inches (81 cm) in height.
- The car seat features 2 layers of side impact protection, an impact-stabilizing steel frame, and an impact-absorbing base for enhanced safety.
- Always secure your child in the car seat harness system. Ensure the harness straps are snug and the chest clip is at armpit level.
- Always install the car seat or car seat base correctly in your vehicle using either the LATCH system or the vehicle's seat belt. Refer to your vehicle owner's manual for specific instructions.
- The B-Safe Ultra Infant Car Seat is FAA Approved for aircraft travel when used without the base.
1.2 Stroller Safety
- The B-Free Stroller is suitable for children from birth up to 65 pounds (29.48 kg) and up to 44 inches (111.76 cm) in height.
- Always use the 5-point harness system to secure your child in the stroller.
- Engage the parking brake whenever the stroller is stationary.
- Do not overload the stroller's cargo basket or pockets. The XL cargo basket has a 10 lbs (4.5 kg) carrying capacity.
- Never leave your child unattended in the stroller.
2. Setup and Installation
2.1 B-Free Stroller Assembly
- Unfold the Stroller: Release the folding latch and lift the handlebar until the stroller frame locks into place.
- Attach Wheels: Insert the front and rear wheels into their respective slots until they click securely.
- Adjust Handlebar: Press the buttons on the side of the handlebar to adjust it to your desired height.

2.2 B-Safe Ultra Infant Car Seat Installation
The B-Safe Ultra Infant Car Seat can be installed with its base using LATCH connectors or a vehicle seat belt, or without the base using the European Belt Guide.
2.2.1 Installation with Base (LATCH System)
- Place the car seat base firmly on the vehicle seat.
- Extend the Premium Quick-Push LATCH Connectors from the base.
- Attach the LATCH connectors to your vehicle's lower anchors. Ensure they click securely.
- Press down firmly on the base while tightening the LATCH strap until the base is secure and does not move more than one inch side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.
- Use the Dual Auto-Level Indicators to ensure the base is at the correct recline angle. Adjust the Spring-Assisted Recline foot if necessary.
- Once the base is secure, place the infant car seat onto the base until it clicks into place. Pull up on the car seat to confirm it is locked.

2.2.2 Installation without Base (European Belt Guide)
- Place the infant car seat rear-facing on the vehicle seat.
- Route the vehicle's lap belt through the designated belt path on the car seat.
- Buckle the vehicle seat belt and remove all slack.
- Route the shoulder belt around the back of the car seat and through the European Belt Guide, ensuring it is snug against the vehicle seat back.
- Check that the car seat is secure and does not move more than one inch side-to-side or front-to-back.

2.3 Attaching Car Seat to Stroller
- Ensure the stroller is fully unfolded and locked in the open position.
- Engage the stroller's parking brake.
- Align the infant car seat with the stroller's receiver.
- Lower the car seat onto the stroller until it clicks securely into place.
- Gently pull up on the car seat to confirm it is properly attached.
3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Stroller Operation
- Folding: With one hand, locate the quick-fold strap/handle and pull it upwards. The stroller will fold compactly.
- Unfolding: Release the folding latch and lift the handlebar until the frame locks into place.
- Parking Brake: The One-Touch Parking Brake is located near the rear wheels. Press down to engage and lift up to release.
- Recline Adjustment: The stroller features Infinite Recline Positions. Adjust the recline strap at the back of the seat to find the desired angle.
- Canopy: The XL Canopy with 50+ UV Protection can be extended or retracted. It includes a Peek-a-boo Mesh Window for ventilation and viewing your child.
- Storage: Utilize the large XL Cargo Basket and additional pockets for storing essentials.

3.2 Car Seat Harness Adjustment
- To tighten the harness, pull the adjustment strap at the front of the car seat.
- To loosen the harness, press the harness release button and pull the shoulder straps forward.
- Ensure the shoulder straps are at or below your child's shoulders when rear-facing.
4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning
- Fabric: Refer to the care labels on the fabric for specific cleaning instructions. Typically, spot clean with mild soap and cold water. Air dry. Do not machine wash or tumble dry unless specified.
- Frame: Wipe the stroller and car seat frame with a damp cloth and mild soap. Dry thoroughly.
- Wheels: Periodically clean debris from the wheels and axle areas to ensure smooth operation.
4.2 Inspection
- Regularly inspect all components for wear, damage, or missing parts.
- Check that all fasteners, buckles, and straps are secure and functioning correctly.
- Do not use the product if any part is damaged or broken. Contact customer support for replacement parts.
5. Troubleshooting
- Stroller difficult to fold/unfold: Ensure all locks are disengaged and the handlebar is in the correct position. Check for any obstructions in the folding mechanism.
- Car seat not clicking into base/stroller: Verify that the car seat and base/stroller receivers are clear of debris. Ensure proper alignment before pushing down firmly.
- Harness difficult to adjust: Check for twists in the harness straps. Ensure the harness release button is fully pressed when loosening.
- Wheels not rolling smoothly: Clean any dirt or debris from the wheel axles. Lubricate with a silicone-based spray if necessary.
