Setup
Battery Installation
The PM8908C requires two 1.5V AAA batteries (not included).
- Locate the rotatable battery cover at the top end of the detector.
- Rotate the cover counter-clockwise to open it.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Replace the battery cover and rotate it clockwise to secure it.
Note: Always use fresh batteries for optimal performance and accurate readings. Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period.
Operating Instructions
Power On/Off
- Press the power button to turn the device on. The LED indicator will light up.
- The device features an auto power-off function to conserve battery life if inactive for a period.
- To manually turn off, press and hold the power button.
Voltage Detection
The PM8908C automatically distinguishes between live (fire) and neutral (zero) lines and offers three sensitivity levels.
- Turn on the detector.
- Hold the detector by its body, ensuring your fingers are away from the probe tip.
- Bring the probe tip close to the wire or outlet you wish to test.
- If AC voltage is detected, the device will emit a sound alarm and the LED indicator will flash. The intensity of the alarm and flashing indicates the strength of the detected voltage.
- The device automatically selects between high, medium, and low sensitivity based on the detected voltage.
Flashlight Operation
The built-in white flashlight can be activated for use in dark environments.
- Press the flashlight button (usually located near the power button) to turn the flashlight on or off.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the device with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: Store the detector in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for extended periods, remove the batteries.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries when the low battery indicator appears or when the device fails to power on. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section for instructions.
