Setup and Wearing Instructions

Proper fit is crucial for optimal sound quality and sound isolation. The Shure SE846 earphones are designed to be worn with the cable running up and over the ear for a secure fit.

1. Identify Left and Right Earphones

Locate the 'L' and 'R' markings or the red (right) and blue (left) dots on the inner side of each earphone body to ensure correct placement.

2. Select the Correct Sleeves (Ear Tips)

Experiment with the various sizes and types of sleeves provided in the fit kit to find the ones that create the best seal and are most comfortable for your ears. A good seal is essential for full-range sound and effective sound isolation.

3. Inserting the Earphones

  1. Form a Hook: Hold the earphone with the cable forming a hook shape.
  2. Compress Foam Sleeves (if applicable): If using foam sleeves, gently compress the foam with your fingers before insertion, similar to how you would compress a foam earplug.
  3. Position Over Ear: Place the hooked cable over your ear.
  4. Insert into Ear Canal: Gently push the sleeve into your ear canal. You can also insert the earphone at a slight forward angle and then rotate it about a quarter turn backward to help it seat properly.
  5. Adjust for Comfort: The earphone should rest securely and comfortably, almost flush with your outer ear. The Shure logo should be right side up when worn correctly.

The cable can hang down in front or behind your back. For an even more secure fit, especially during physical activity, adjust the cable cinch snugly against the back of your head.
