Introduction

The Choicemmed CBP1K3 is a fully automatic digital blood pressure monitor designed for accurate and reliable measurement of systolic and diastolic blood pressure, as well as pulse frequency, using the oscillometric method. This device features a user-friendly one-touch interface, a large LCD display, and memory for two users, storing up to 120 readings each. It is suitable for home use, clinics, hospitals, and social medical organizations.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the main unit.
  2. Press the tab and slide open the battery cover.
  3. Insert four AA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery cover securely.

2. Connecting the Cuff

  1. Locate the air tube connector on the side of the main unit.
  2. Firmly insert the air tube plug from the cuff into the connector port until it clicks into place.

Operating Instructions

1. Applying the Cuff

  1. Ensure you are seated comfortably with your arm resting on a flat surface, palm facing up.
  2. Slide the cuff onto your bare upper arm, approximately 1-2 cm above your elbow joint. The air tube should run down the inside of your arm.
  3. Wrap the cuff snugly around your arm, ensuring it is not too tight or too loose. The index line on the cuff should fall within the range indicated on the cuff itself.

2. Taking a Measurement

  1. With the cuff correctly applied and connected, press the power button (usually marked with a power symbol) on the main unit.
  2. The cuff will automatically inflate. Remain still and silent during the measurement.
  3. Once the measurement is complete, the cuff will deflate, and your systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate will be displayed on the large LCD screen.

3. Understanding the Display

The 4-inch large LCD display shows the following parameters:

  • Systolic Pressure (SYS): The top number, indicating the pressure in your arteries when your heart beats.
  • Diastolic Pressure (DIA): The bottom number, indicating the pressure in your arteries between beats.
  • Pulse Rate (PUL): Your heart rate per minute.
  • Date and Time: For tracking measurements.
  • WHO Indicator: A multi-color bar on the left side of the display indicates your blood pressure level according to WHO (World Health Organization) guidelines (Green for Normal, Yellow for High Normal, Red for Hypertension).
  • Arrhythmia Detection: An icon may appear if an irregular heartbeat is detected.

4. Memory Function

The device supports two users, each with 120 memory slots to store readings with date and time. Use the designated user selection button (often marked with a person icon or 'M') to switch between users and access stored data.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the main unit and cuff with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the device in water.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Keep it out of reach of children.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace all four AA batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display.
  • Cuff Care: Avoid bending or creasing the air tube excessively. Do not wash the cuff in a washing machine.

Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Check if batteries are inserted correctly and are not depleted. Replace if necessary.
  • Error Message on Display: Refer to the detailed troubleshooting section in the included instruction manual for specific error codes and their solutions. Common causes include improper cuff placement or movement during measurement.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the cuff is correctly sized and applied. Avoid talking or moving during measurement. Take measurements at the same time each day for consistency. Consult a healthcare professional if readings consistently seem abnormal.
  • Cuff Not Inflating/Deflating: Check that the air tube is securely connected to both the cuff and the main unit. Ensure there are no kinks in the air tube.
