1. Introduction

2. Safety Instructions
Always adhere to the following safety guidelines to prevent injury or damage to the product.
- General Safety: Keep all safety advice and instructions in a safe place for future reference.
- Children and Packaging: WARNING! DANGER OF DEATH AND ACCIDENTS FOR TODDLERS AND CHILDREN! Never leave packaging material unsupervised. Children may underestimate the dangers. Always keep children away from the product.
- Product Condition: Check the product for any damage before use. Do not use a damaged product.
- Electromagnetic Interference: Magnetic fields may cause the product to malfunction. If this happens, briefly remove the product from the field and reinsert it.

- Battery Safety: DANGER TO LIFE! Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of reach of children. If accidentally swallowed, seek immediate medical attention. EXPLOSION! Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Do not short-circuit batteries/rechargeable batteries and/or throw them into fire. Overheating or bursting can be the result. Never throw batteries/rechargeable batteries into fire or water. Do not exert mechanical force on batteries/rechargeable batteries.
- Risk of Battery Leakage: Avoid extreme environmental conditions and temperatures, which could affect batteries/rechargeable batteries, e.g., radiators/direct sunlight. Avoid contact with the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes. In the event of contact with battery acid, thoroughly flush the affected area with plenty of water and seek immediate medical attention. WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES! Leaked or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries can cause burns on contact with the skin.
- Product Damage: Only use the specified type of battery. When inserting, ensure the correct polarity. This is shown inside the battery compartment. Clean the contacts on the battery and in the battery compartment before inserting. Remove exhausted batteries/rechargeable batteries from the product immediately.
- Environmental Conditions: Ensure accurate weighing even in high humidity areas as its splash-proof design.
3. Preparing the Product for Use (Setup)
Before using your kitchen scale, follow these steps for proper setup.
3.1 Unpacking
- Carefully remove the scale and all accessories from the packaging.
- Verify that all items are present and that the product is undamaged. If any parts are missing or damaged, do not use the product.
3.2 Battery Installation
The scale requires one 3V CR2032 button cell battery. To install or replace the battery:
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the product.

- Turning On: Press the ZERO button to turn on the scale. The LCD display will show "0" or "0 g" when ready for use.
- Turning Off: Press and hold the ZERO button for approximately 3 seconds to turn off the scale. The scale also features an auto power-off function to conserve battery life if left idle for a period.
4.2 LCD Display Overview
The LCD display provides various indicators for measurement and status:
- Measurement Value: Displays the current weight or volume.
- Unit Indicator: Shows the selected unit (g, oz, ml, fl.oz).
- Tare Symbol: Indicates when the tare function is active.
- Negative Value Symbol: Appears if a negative weight is measured (e.g., after taring and removing an item).

5. Weighing
To weigh items using your Silvercrest kitchen scale:
- Ensure the scale is on a flat, stable surface and turned on. The display should show "0" or "0 g".
- Place the item directly onto the weighing surface. The display will show the weight.
- For weighing ingredients in a container, place the empty container on the scale first. Press the ZERO button to reset the display to "0" (tare function). Then add your ingredients to the container. The display will show only the weight of the added ingredients.
- The scale will automatically lock the reading once the data is stable.
