2. Connecting Your Devices

The MX900 combo offers dual connectivity options: the Logitech Unifying USB receiver or Bluetooth wireless technology.

Using the Logitech Unifying Receiver:

  1. Locate the small Logitech Unifying USB receiver.
  2. Plug the Unifying receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. Turn on both the keyboard and the mouse using their respective power switches. They should automatically connect to the receiver.

The Unifying receiver allows you to connect up to six compatible Logitech devices to a single receiver, offering a 10-meter wireless range.

Using Bluetooth Wireless Technology (for MX Master Mouse):

The MX Master mouse features Easy-Switch technology, allowing it to connect to up to three different computers via Bluetooth. To pair:

  1. Turn on the MX Master mouse.
  2. Press the Easy-Switch button on the bottom of the mouse to select an available channel (1, 2, or 3). The LED indicator for the selected channel will blink rapidly.
  3. On your computer, open Bluetooth settings and search for new devices. Select 'Logitech MX Master' from the list to complete pairing.

This software allows you to personalize your experience, including adjusting backlighting, remapping mouse buttons, and configuring application-specific settings.

Operating Your Devices

Keyboard Operation (Logitech K800)

  • Smart Backlighting: The keyboard features intelligent auto-illumination. Keys light up as your hands approach and dim when you move away, conserving battery life. The backlighting intensity adjusts automatically to ambient light conditions.
  • Perfectstroke Key System: Experience comfortable, fluid, and quiet typing with the Logitech Perfectstroke key system. The concave, laser-etched keys provide a tactile feel and optimal key travel.
  • Customizable Keys: Use the Logitech Options software to customize the F1-F12 function keys for quick access to frequently used applications, functions, or media controls.

Mouse Operation (Logitech MX Master)

  • Speed-Adaptive Scroll Wheel: The main scroll wheel automatically shifts between click-to-click scrolling for precision and hyper-fast scrolling for navigating long documents or web pages.
  • Unique Thumb Wheel: Located on the side, the thumb wheel provides horizontal scrolling capabilities, ideal for navigating spreadsheets or large images. This can also be customized via Logitech Options.
  • Darkfield Laser Sensor: The MX Master mouse tracks flawlessly on virtually any surface, including glass (minimum 4mm thickness) and high-gloss surfaces, where standard mice often fail.
  • Easy-Switch: Seamlessly switch between up to three connected computers with the press of a button on the mouse's underside.
  • Customizable Buttons: All buttons on the MX Master mouse, including the thumb button, can be customized using Logitech Options software to perform specific actions or shortcuts.

Maintenance

Battery Management

Both the keyboard and mouse are equipped with rechargeable batteries. A single charge can provide power for up to 10 days, depending on usage. When the battery level is low, an indicator light will notify you. Recharge the devices using the supplied Micro-USB cable.

  • To charge the keyboard: Connect the Micro-USB cable to the charging port on the keyboard and a USB power source.
  • To charge the mouse: Connect the Micro-USB cable to the charging port on the mouse and a USB power source.

Cleaning

To clean your devices, use a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

Troubleshooting

Connectivity Issues

  • No Connection: Ensure both the keyboard and mouse are turned on and fully charged. Verify the Logitech Unifying receiver is securely plugged into a USB port. For Bluetooth, ensure your computer's Bluetooth is enabled and the mouse is in pairing mode on an available Easy-Switch channel.
  • Interference: If experiencing intermittent connection, try moving the devices closer to the Unifying receiver or computer. Avoid placing the receiver near other wireless devices or large metal objects that may cause interference.
  • Logitech Options: If issues persist, open the Logitech Options software. It can often diagnose and suggest solutions for connectivity problems. You can also re-pair devices through the software.

Keyboard Backlighting

  • If backlighting is not working, ensure the keyboard is charged. Check the illumination settings in Logitech Options to confirm auto-illumination is enabled.

Mouse Tracking

  • If the mouse is not tracking smoothly, ensure the Darkfield Laser sensor on the bottom is clean and free of debris. While it tracks on most surfaces, extreme textures or highly reflective surfaces might affect performance.
