1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Elementi Manhattan Outdoor Gas Firepit Table. This manual provides essential information for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your new natural gas fire pit. Please read all instructions carefully before use and retain this manual for future reference.

This fire pit is designed for outdoor use only and operates on natural gas. It features a durable concrete construction and an electronic ignition system for ease of use.

2. Important Safety Information

WARNING: For your safety, read and understand all instructions before assembling or operating this appliance. Failure to follow these instructions could result in fire, explosion, serious injury, or death.

• This appliance is for outdoor use only. Do not use in an enclosed area.
• Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.
• Installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency, or gas supplier.
• Maintain minimum clearances: 36 inches (91 cm) from sides and rear to combustible materials.
• Keep children and pets away from the fire pit.
• Never leave the fire pit unattended when in use.
• Ensure the fire pit is placed on a hard, level, non-combustible surface.
• Do not use this appliance for cooking.
• Always turn off the gas supply when the fire pit is not in use.

4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Site Selection and Preparation

• Choose a firm, level, non-combustible surface for the fire pit.
• Ensure adequate clearance from combustible materials (walls, fences, overhangs, trees). Refer to safety information for minimum distances.
• The fire pit is heavy (142 lbs). Two people are recommended for safe placement.

4.2 Gas Connection (Natural Gas)

This fire pit is designed for natural gas. Connection must be performed by a qualified professional.

1. Ensure the main natural gas supply valve is OFF.
2. Connect the provided natural gas hose with the quick connect fitting to your existing natural gas supply line. Ensure all connections are tight and secure.
3. Perform a leak test on all connections using a soapy water solution. Bubbles indicate a leak. If a leak is detected, turn off the gas supply, tighten connections, and re-test. Do not operate the fire pit if a leak persists.

Note: The gas connection point is typically located on the side of the fire pit. Plan your patio layout to accommodate the gas line discreetly.

4.3 Lava Rock Placement

1. Carefully unpack the lava rocks.
2. Distribute the lava rocks evenly over the burner pan. Do not cover the igniter electrode or the burner ports. Ensure the igniter is visible and clear of debris.
3. Do not overfill the burner pan with lava rocks.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Pre-Operation Check

• Ensure the area around the fire pit is clear of combustible materials.
• Verify all gas connections are secure and there are no leaks.
• Confirm the igniter electrode is clear of lava rocks.

5.2 Ignition Procedure

1. Open the main natural gas supply valve.
2. Locate the control knob on the side of the fire pit.
3. Push and turn the control knob counter-clockwise to the "LOW" position.
4. Immediately press and hold the igniter button. You should hear a clicking sound and see a spark at the igniter electrode.
5. Once the burner ignites, continue to hold the control knob in for 10-15 seconds to allow the thermocouple to heat up.
6. Release the control knob. If the flame extinguishes, repeat steps 3-5.
7. Adjust the flame height by turning the control knob between "LOW" and "HIGH".

If the burner does not ignite after several attempts, refer to the Troubleshooting section.

5.3 Shut-Down Procedure

1. Turn the control knob clockwise to the "OFF" position.
2. Close the main natural gas supply valve.
3. Allow the fire pit to cool completely before covering or moving.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Fire Pit

• Ensure the fire pit is completely cool before cleaning.
• Wipe concrete surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. For stubborn stains, use a mild soap solution. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
• Clean the burner and lava rocks periodically to remove debris.

6.2 Protective Cover

A protective cover is included to shield the fire pit from weather elements when not in use. Ensure the fire pit is completely cool and dry before applying the cover. Regular use of the cover will help prolong the life and appearance of your fire pit.

6.3 Winterization

During prolonged periods of non-use or freezing temperatures, disconnect the gas supply and store the fire pit in a dry, protected area. If storing outdoors, ensure it is thoroughly covered and protected from moisture.
