4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Brewing Espresso:
- Fill Water Tank: Ensure the water tank is filled with fresh, cold water.
- Prepare Coffee: Use finely ground coffee. Fill the filter basket in the portafilter with the desired amount of coffee (approximately 7-10g per cup). Lightly tamp the coffee down.
- Attach Portafilter: Securely attach the portafilter to the brewing head. You may need to apply firm pressure to lock it into place.
- Place Carafe/Cups: Place the glass carafe or espresso cups on the drip tray. For optimal temperature, place cups on the cup warming plate on top of the machine beforehand.
- Power On: Plug in the machine and turn on the power button at the rear. The indicator light will illuminate.
- Brew: Turn the control knob to the 'Brew' position (coffee cup symbol). Hot water will begin to flow through the coffee.
- Stop Brewing: Once the desired amount of espresso is brewed (up to 4 cups), turn the control knob back to 'Off'.

4.2 Making Cappuccino / Steaming Milk:
To create frothed milk for cappuccinos or lattes, use the steam wand.
- Ensure Water: Make sure there is sufficient water in the tank. The steam function requires water to generate steam.
- Heat Up: Turn the control knob to the 'Pause' position (if available, or wait for the machine to heat up after brewing).
- Prepare Milk: Fill a metal pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to about one-third full.
- Steam: Submerge the steam wand tip just below the surface of the milk. Turn the control knob to the 'Steam' position (steam symbol).
- Froth: Move the pitcher up and down slowly to incorporate air and create foam. Continue until the milk reaches the desired temperature and consistency.
- Stop Steam: Turn the control knob back to 'Off'.
- Clean Wand: Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying. Briefly release a small amount of steam to clear any internal blockages.

- Fill the water tank with the descaling solution.
- Place the glass carafe under the brewing head.
- Turn on the machine and run half of the solution through the brewing cycle.
- Turn the control knob to 'Off' and let the machine sit for 15-20 minutes.
- Run the remaining solution through the brewing cycle.
- Repeat the process with fresh water twice to rinse out any descaling solution residue.
5.3 Storage:
When not in use for an extended period, ensure the machine is clean, dry, and stored in a cool, dry place.
