Setup Instructions

  1. Connect the Microphone: Plug the USB cable from the CMTECK microphone directly into an available USB port on your computer (PC or Mac).
  2. Automatic Installation: The microphone is plug-and-play. Your operating system (Windows or macOS) should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers. No manual driver installation is typically required.
  3. Verify Connection: Once connected, the LED indicator on the microphone will illuminate green, confirming a successful connection.
  4. Select as Default Device:
    • Windows: Go to Control Panel > Sound > Recording tab. Select the CMTECK microphone as your default recording device.
    • macOS: Go to System Preferences > Sound > Input tab. Select the CMTECK microphone from the list of input devices.
  5. Application Settings: In your communication or recording software (e.g., Zoom, Skype, OBS), ensure the CMTECK microphone is selected as the audio input device within the application's settings.

Note: This microphone is not compatible with Raspberry Pi or Android devices.

Sound is too quiet or distorted
  • Microphone input volume too low.
  • Microphone too far from the sound source.
  • Excessive background noise.
  • Increase the microphone input volume in your computer's sound settings or application settings.
  • Place the microphone closer to the speakers or in the center of the conversation area.
  • Ensure the environment is as quiet as possible. The microphone has noise cancellation, but extreme noise can still affect quality.
