2. Setup Guide
2.1 Unboxing and Initial Inspection
Upon opening the package, ensure all components are present:
- NINJA V Unit
- Battery Eliminator
- 1 x International DC Power Supply
- 1 x MasterCaddy II

Inspect the unit for any visible damage before proceeding with setup.
2.2 Powering the Ninja V
Connect the international DC power supply to the Ninja V using the battery eliminator. Alternatively, the Ninja V can be powered by compatible NP-F type batteries (not included) inserted into the battery slot on the rear of the device.
2.3 Connecting to a Camera
The Ninja V connects to your camera via HDMI. Use a high-quality HDMI 2.0 cable to connect your camera's HDMI output to the HDMI IN port on the Ninja V. If your camera supports SDI, optional accessories may be required.

2.4 Installing Storage (Atom SSDmini)
The Ninja V records to Atom SSDmini drives. Insert a compatible SSD into the MasterCaddy II, then slide the MasterCaddy II into the dedicated slot on the rear of the Ninja V until it clicks into place. Ensure the drive is securely seated.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Power On/Off
To power on the Ninja V, press and hold the power button located on the side of the unit until the Atomos logo appears on the screen. To power off, press and hold the power button again until the unit shuts down.
3.2 Navigating AtomOS
The Ninja V features the intuitive AtomOS operating system, controlled via the touchscreen display. Tap icons to access menus, settings, and recording controls. Swipe gestures may also be used for certain functions.
3.3 Recording Video
Once connected to a camera and a formatted SSD is inserted, the Ninja V is ready to record. Ensure your camera's output settings match the Ninja V's input capabilities (e.g., 4Kp60, 10-bit HDR). Press the record button on the touchscreen to start and stop recording. The Ninja V supports Apple ProRes, Apple ProRes RAW, Avid DNxHR/HD, and HEVC (H.265) formats.

3.4 Playback and Review
After recording, you can instantly play back your footage directly on the Ninja V. AtomOS allows for instant playback, slow motion, and frame-by-frame analysis for immediate review of your takes. You can also tag your favorite takes to create playlists.
3.5 Audio Monitoring
The Ninja V enables audio input directly from your camera. Monitor audio levels on the display and connect headphones to the audio output jack for critical listening.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Cleaning the Device
To clean the Ninja V, use a soft, lint-free cloth. For the screen, a microfiber cloth is recommended. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. If necessary, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen-safe cleaning solution.
4.2 Battery Care
If using Lithium Ion batteries, ensure they are charged using the appropriate charger. Store batteries in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid fully discharging batteries frequently to prolong their lifespan.
