Operating Instructions

Live View and Recording

Once set up, open the mydlink app to access the live video feed from your camera. You can initiate manual recordings or capture snapshots directly from the live view screen.

Two-Way Audio

To use the two-way audio feature, tap the microphone icon within the live view in the mydlink app. Speak into your phone's microphone, and your voice will be transmitted through the camera's speaker. Release the icon to listen.

Motion and Sound Detection

Configure motion and sound detection settings within the mydlink app. You can define detection zones, adjust sensitivity levels, and set up push notifications to receive alerts on your mobile device when activity is detected.

Recording to MicroSD Card

Insert a compatible microSD card (up to 128GB, Class 10 or higher recommended) into the camera's microSD slot. Within the mydlink app, navigate to the camera settings to enable continuous recording or event-based recording to the microSD card. Recorded footage can be reviewed directly from the app.

Cloud Recording

The camera supports mydlink cloud recording. Refer to the mydlink app for details on available free and paid cloud storage plans and how to activate them.

Smart Home Integration

To integrate with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant, enable the D-Link skill/action in your respective smart home app. Follow the instructions to link your mydlink account. You can then use voice commands to view your camera feed on compatible devices like Echo Show or Google Chromecast.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Camera

To clean the camera lens and body, use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners, aerosols, or abrasive solvents, as these can damage the camera's surface or internal components.

Firmware Updates

Regularly check for firmware updates through the mydlink app. Firmware updates often include performance improvements, new features, and security enhancements. It is recommended to keep your camera's firmware up to date for optimal performance and security.

MicroSD Card Management

If using a microSD card for recording, periodically check its status in the mydlink app. Over time, microSD cards can degrade. If you experience recording issues, consider formatting the card via the app or replacing it.

Troubleshooting

Camera Not Connecting to Wi-Fi

  • Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz, as the camera does not support 5GHz networks.
  • Verify that your Wi-Fi password is entered correctly in the mydlink app.
  • Move the camera closer to your Wi-Fi router to improve signal strength.
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router and the camera.

No Video Feed / Offline Status

  • Check if the camera is powered on and its LED indicator is solid green.
  • Ensure your internet connection is stable.
  • Close and reopen the mydlink app.
  • If the issue persists, try restarting the camera by unplugging and replugging its power adapter.

Motion Detection Not Working

  • Verify that motion detection is enabled in the mydlink app settings for your camera.
  • Adjust the motion detection sensitivity. Very low sensitivity might miss events.
  • Ensure the detection zone covers the area you wish to monitor.
  • Check for any recent firmware updates that might have affected settings. If issues arose after an update, consider contacting D-Link support.

Poor Two-Way Audio Quality

  • Ensure there is no excessive background noise near the camera or your mobile device.
  • Check your internet connection speed; a slow connection can affect audio quality.
  • Ensure the microphone and speaker on the camera are not obstructed.

Factory Reset

If all troubleshooting steps fail, you may need to perform a factory reset. Locate the reset button on the back of the camera (often a small pinhole). With the camera powered on, use a paperclip to press and hold the reset button for approximately 10 seconds until the LED indicator changes. The camera will then revert to its factory default settings, and you will need to set it up again through the mydlink app.
