Maintenance
Cleaning the Camera
To clean the camera lens and body, use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners, aerosols, or abrasive solvents, as these can damage the camera's surface or internal components.
Firmware Updates
Regularly check for firmware updates through the mydlink app. Firmware updates often include performance improvements, new features, and security enhancements. It is recommended to keep your camera's firmware up to date for optimal performance and security.
MicroSD Card Management
If using a microSD card for recording, periodically check its status in the mydlink app. Over time, microSD cards can degrade. If you experience recording issues, consider formatting the card via the app or replacing it.
Troubleshooting
Camera Not Connecting to Wi-Fi
- Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz, as the camera does not support 5GHz networks.
- Verify that your Wi-Fi password is entered correctly in the mydlink app.
- Move the camera closer to your Wi-Fi router to improve signal strength.
- Restart your Wi-Fi router and the camera.
No Video Feed / Offline Status
- Check if the camera is powered on and its LED indicator is solid green.
- Ensure your internet connection is stable.
- Close and reopen the mydlink app.
- If the issue persists, try restarting the camera by unplugging and replugging its power adapter.
Motion Detection Not Working
- Verify that motion detection is enabled in the mydlink app settings for your camera.
- Adjust the motion detection sensitivity. Very low sensitivity might miss events.
- Ensure the detection zone covers the area you wish to monitor.
- Check for any recent firmware updates that might have affected settings. If issues arose after an update, consider contacting D-Link support.
Poor Two-Way Audio Quality
- Ensure there is no excessive background noise near the camera or your mobile device.
- Check your internet connection speed; a slow connection can affect audio quality.
- Ensure the microphone and speaker on the camera are not obstructed.
Factory Reset
If all troubleshooting steps fail, you may need to perform a factory reset. Locate the reset button on the back of the camera (often a small pinhole). With the camera powered on, use a paperclip to press and hold the reset button for approximately 10 seconds until the LED indicator changes. The camera will then revert to its factory default settings, and you will need to set it up again through the mydlink app.
