Setup

1. Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the Edge 520 Plus. Connect the device to a USB power adapter or a computer USB port using the provided USB cable. The device has a battery life of approximately 15 hours on a full charge.

2. Installing the Mounts

The Edge 520 Plus comes with two mounting options: a flush out-front mount and a standard mount. Choose the mount that best suits your bicycle and riding preference.

  • Standard Mount: Attach the mount to your handlebar or stem using the included rubber bands. Ensure it is securely fastened.
  • Flush Out-Front Mount: This mount positions the device in front of your handlebars. Secure it with the provided hex screw.

Once the mount is installed, align the Edge 520 Plus with the mount and twist it clockwise until it locks into place. Attach the tether for added security.

3. Initial Power On and Configuration

Press and hold the power button (located on the left side) to turn on the device. Follow the on-screen prompts to select your language, units of measure, and set up your user profile. It is recommended to connect the device to a computer via the Garmin Express desktop application to ensure the firmware is up-to-date before your first ride.

Navigation

The Edge 520 Plus includes preloaded Garmin Cycle Map with turn-by-turn directions. You can create courses on Garmin Connect or import routes from other platforms. The device provides on-screen prompts and alerts for upcoming turns and points of interest.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Device

    • Try unpairing and re-pairing the device from your smartphone's Bluetooth settings and within the Garmin Connect app.
