2. Safety Information

Read all safety instructions before installing or operating the battery. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

• Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses and gloves when handling the battery.
• Keep the battery away from open flames, sparks, and heat sources. Batteries produce flammable gases.
• Ensure adequate ventilation in the area where the battery is installed.
• Do not short-circuit the battery terminals.
• Keep out of reach of children and pets.
• In case of electrolyte contact with skin or eyes, flush immediately with plenty of water and seek medical attention.

4. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for optimal performance and safety. If you are unsure, consult a qualified technician.

4.1 Site Selection:

• Choose a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area.
• Ensure the surface is level and strong enough to support the battery's weight (approx. 50 kg).
• Keep away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and flammable materials.

4.2 Initial Preparation:

1. Remove the vent plugs from the top of the battery.
2. Fill the battery with distilled water up to the specified level indicated by the float indicators. Do not overfill.
3. Allow the battery to rest for 1-2 hours after filling to allow the electrolyte to stabilize.

4.3 Connecting to Inverter:

1. Ensure the inverter is switched off and disconnected from the main power supply.
2. Connect the positive (+) terminal of the battery to the positive (+) terminal of the inverter using the red cable. Tighten securely.
3. Connect the negative (-) terminal of the battery to the negative (-) terminal of the inverter using the black cable. Tighten securely.
4. Ensure all connections are firm and free from corrosion.
5. Once connections are made, you can switch on the inverter and connect it to the main power supply.

5. Operating Instructions

The Luminous Shakti Charge SC 18060 battery works in conjunction with an inverter to provide uninterrupted power.

5.1 Initial Charging:

For the first use, allow the battery to undergo a full charging cycle (typically 10-15 hours) without any load. This helps in conditioning the battery for optimal performance.

5.2 Normal Operation:

• The inverter will automatically switch to battery power during a power outage.
• The battery will recharge automatically when the main power supply is restored.
• Avoid deep discharge of the battery as it can reduce its lifespan.

• Periodically clean the battery terminals to prevent corrosion.
• Use a wire brush and a mixture of baking soda and water to clean any corrosion.
• Apply petroleum jelly or a terminal protector to the cleaned terminals to prevent future corrosion.

6.3 Ventilation:

Ensure the battery area remains well-ventilated to dissipate gases produced during charging.
