1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the All-Clad Electric Deep Fryer, Model Easy Clean Pro. This appliance is designed to provide efficient and convenient deep frying for a variety of foods. Featuring a 3.5-liter oil capacity, precise temperature control, and a patented oil filtration system, it simplifies the deep-frying process and makes cleanup effortless. Please familiarize yourself with all instructions to ensure safe and enjoyable use.

2. Important Safeguards

  • Read all instructions before using the deep fryer.
  • Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
  • To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or heating element in water or other liquid.
  • Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
  • Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
  • Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.
  • The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.
  • Do not use outdoors.
  • Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.
  • Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquids.
  • Always attach plug to appliance first, then plug cord into the wall outlet. To disconnect, turn any control to “off,” then remove plug from wall outlet.
  • Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

4. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
  2. Clean: Before first use, wash all removable parts (frying basket, bowl, lid, oil box) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. The main unit should be wiped with a damp cloth.
  3. Assemble: Place the stainless steel bowl into the main unit. Insert the heating element/control panel assembly securely into its designated slot. Ensure the frying basket is placed inside the bowl.
  4. Position: Place the deep fryer on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from walls and cabinets to allow for proper ventilation.
  5. Add Oil: Fill the stainless steel bowl with cooking oil up to the 'MAX' fill line. Do not overfill or underfill. The oil capacity is 3.5 liters.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Preheating

  1. Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
  2. Use the adjustable thermostat on the control panel to select your desired frying temperature (range: 300°F to 375°F).
  3. The 'Ready' indicator light will illuminate when the oil has reached the set temperature. This may take several minutes.

5.2 Frying

  1. Once the oil is preheated, carefully lower the frying basket containing your food into the hot oil. Do not overload the basket; the fryer can handle up to 2.65 pounds of food.
  2. Close the lid to minimize splattering and retain heat. The large viewing window allows you to monitor the cooking process without opening the lid.
  3. Use the integrated timer on the control panel to set the desired cooking duration.
  4. When frying is complete, carefully lift the basket and allow excess oil to drain back into the bowl before removing the food.

5.3 Temperature Guide

The optimal frying temperature varies depending on the food type. Here is a general guide:

6. Patented Oil Filtration System

The All-Clad Deep Fryer features an innovative patented oil filtration system for automatic oil management. This system allows you to filter and store oil efficiently, reducing waste and maintaining oil quality for longer.

  1. After frying, allow the oil to cool completely.
  2. Turn the dial on the front of the unit to the 'Automatic Oil Filtration' position.
  3. The fryer will automatically drain and filter the oil into the removable oil storage box located at the bottom of the unit.
  4. Once filtered, the oil is stored safely and cleanly, ready for your next frying session.

7. Cleaning and Maintenance

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity and hygiene of your deep fryer. The All-Clad Deep Fryer is designed with dishwasher-safe components for easy cleanup.

  1. Ensure Cool-Down: Always wait until the oil has completely cooled before attempting to clean any part of the fryer.
  2. Remove Oil: Use the patented oil filtration system to drain and store the oil.
  3. Disassemble: Carefully remove the frying basket, stainless steel bowl, lid, and oil storage box.
  4. Dishwasher Safe Parts: The frying basket, stainless steel bowl, lid, and oil box are dishwasher safe. Place them on the top rack of your dishwasher.
  5. Wipe Main Unit: Wipe the exterior of the main unit and the heating element/control panel assembly with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit or heating element in water.
  6. Dry Thoroughly: Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or storing the fryer.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your All-Clad Electric Deep Fryer, please refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • Fryer not heating: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet and the heating element/control panel is correctly seated in the main unit. Check if the thermostat is set to a desired temperature.
  • Oil not filtering: Verify that the oil has cooled sufficiently. The filtration system is designed to operate only when the oil is at a safe, cool temperature. Ensure the dial is correctly set to 'Automatic Oil Filtration'.
  • Food not crispy: Ensure the oil is preheated to the correct temperature before adding food. Do not overload the basket, as this can lower oil temperature and result in soggy food.
  • Excessive smoke: This may indicate old or dirty oil, or the oil temperature is too high. Replace old oil, clean the fryer, and ensure the thermostat is set correctly.
