4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
The Mengshen TH02 requires one 1.5V AAA battery for operation. Follow these steps to install the battery:
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
- Slide the cover downwards to open the compartment.
- Insert the AAA battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+ and - terminals match the markings inside the compartment).
- Slide the battery compartment cover back into place until it clicks securely.

4.2 Device Placement

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Display Overview
The large LCD screen displays the following information:
- Temperature: Shown in large digits at the top.
- Humidity: Displayed as a percentage at the bottom right.
- Time: Located at the bottom left, with AM/PM indicator.
- Date: (Month and Day) can be viewed by pressing the ADJ button in time display mode.

5.2 Button Functions
The device has three control buttons on the front:
- MODE: Used to switch between display modes (e.g., time, alarm) and enter setting modes.
- ADJ (Adjust): Used to adjust values during setting modes or to view date/alarm.
- MEMORY: Used to view MAX/MIN temperature and humidity records.
5.3 Setting Time and Date
- Press the MODE button once to enter time setting mode. The hour digits will flash.
- Press the ADJ button to adjust the hour.
- Press MODE again to set the minutes. Press ADJ to adjust.
- Continue pressing MODE to cycle through setting the year, month, and day, using ADJ to change values.
- After setting the day, press MODE one last time to exit setting mode and return to normal display.
5.4 Temperature Unit Selection (°C/°F)
To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F):
- In normal display mode, press the ADJ button once to toggle between °C and °F.
5.5 Viewing MAX/MIN Readings
The device stores the maximum and minimum temperature and humidity values recorded since the last reset or battery installation.
- Press the MEMORY button once to display the maximum temperature and humidity. The 'MAX' indicator will appear on the screen.
- Press MEMORY again to display the minimum temperature and humidity. The 'MIN' indicator will appear.
- Press MEMORY a third time to return to the current temperature and humidity display.
- To clear the MAX/MIN records, press and hold the MEMORY button for approximately 2 seconds while viewing either MAX or MIN values.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
To clean the device, gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the device in water, as this can damage the electronic components.
6.2 Battery Replacement
When the display becomes dim or the readings are inconsistent, it is time to replace the battery. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in Section 4.1. Always use a fresh 1.5V AAA battery.

- No Display / Dim Display: Check if the battery is installed correctly with the right polarity. Replace the battery with a new one if necessary.
