2. Package Contents

Your Daytech Wireless Door Chime System package includes:

  • 2 x Wireless Receivers
  • 2 x Wireless Door/Window Sensors
  • Mounting Hardware (double-sided adhesive tape, screws)
  • Batteries (2 x AAA for receivers, 2 x CR2450 for sensors)

3. Setup and Installation

The Daytech Wireless Door Chime System is designed for quick and easy setup. The sensors and receivers are pre-paired at the factory.

3.1 Installing the Receiver

  1. Plug the wireless receiver into any standard electrical outlet within range of your desired sensor location.
  2. Ensure the receiver is in a location where the chime can be clearly heard.

3.2 Installing the Sensor

The door/window sensor consists of two parts: a main sensor unit and a smaller magnetic strip. These two parts must be installed in close proximity to each other.

  1. Identify a suitable location on your door, window, drawer, or cabinet. The sensor can be mounted on either side of the opening.
  2. Clean the surface thoroughly where the sensor will be mounted to ensure proper adhesion.
  3. Attach the main sensor unit to the fixed frame and the magnetic strip to the moving part (door/window) using the provided double-sided adhesive tape. Alternatively, screws can be used for a more permanent installation.
  4. Ensure the two parts are aligned and the gap between them is less than 0.6 inches (1.5 cm) when the door/window is closed. The red indicator light on the sensor should briefly flash when the two parts are separated, indicating activation.

The receiver offers 5 adjustable volume levels, ranging from 0 dB (mute) to 110 dB.

  1. Locate the volume control button on the side of the receiver.
  2. Press the button repeatedly to cycle through the 5 volume levels until your desired loudness is reached.

4.2 Changing Chime Melody

The system features 20 different ringtones to choose from.

  1. Locate the "forward" and "backward" buttons on the side of the receiver.
  2. Press either button to cycle through the available melodies until you find your preferred chime.

4.3 Pairing Additional Sensors (If applicable)

If you need to pair additional sensors or re-pair existing ones:

  1. Select your desired melody on the receiver using the "forward" or "backward" buttons.
  2. Long press the volume button on the receiver for 5-7 seconds until the receiver emits a "ding" sound and its LED blinks rapidly. This indicates it is in pairing mode.
  3. Quickly separate the two parts of the door sensor to activate the transmitter and send a signal to the receiver.
  4. Upon successful pairing, the receiver will sound the selected melody to confirm.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement (Sensor)

The wireless sensors are powered by a CR2450 lithium battery, which typically lasts 3-5 years depending on usage.

  1. When the sensor's performance degrades or the red indicator light no longer flashes upon activation, it's time to replace the battery.
  2. Carefully open the sensor casing using a small screwdriver.
  3. Remove the old CR2450 battery and insert a new one, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the sensor casing securely.

5.2 Cleaning

Wipe the receivers and sensors with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.

5.3 Environmental Conditions

The sensors have an IP44 waterproof rating, making them suitable for various indoor and sheltered outdoor conditions. They operate effectively within a temperature range of -4°F (-20°C) to 140°F (60°C).

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Chime Sound:
    • Ensure the receiver is plugged into a working power outlet.
    • Check the receiver's volume setting; it might be set to mute (0 dB).
    • Verify that the sensor battery is not depleted. Replace if necessary.
    • Re-pair the sensor with the receiver following the instructions in Section 4.3.
  • Sensor Not Activating:
    • Ensure the gap between the two sensor parts is less than 0.6 inches (1.5 cm) when closed.
    • Check the sensor battery.
    • Confirm the sensor is within the 800 ft (240m) operating range of the receiver, considering walls and obstacles may reduce range.
  • Interference or False Alarms:
    • Relocate the receiver or sensor to avoid potential sources of electromagnetic interference.
    • Ensure the sensor is securely mounted and not subject to vibrations that could cause false triggers.
