Setup

Battery Installation

The LeapFrog Scout and Violet 100 Words Book requires 2 AA batteries. Batteries are included for demonstration purposes only. For regular use and optimal performance, it is recommended to install new batteries.

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the book.
2. Using a Phillips head screwdriver, loosen the screw on the battery compartment cover.
3. Remove the cover.
4. Insert 2 new AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
5. Replace the battery compartment cover and tighten the screw securely.

Initial Power On

Once batteries are installed, the book is ready for use. There is no separate power button; the book activates upon opening or interaction. If the book does not respond, ensure batteries are correctly installed and fully charged.

Operating Instructions

Exploring Words and Sounds

Open the book to any page. Each page features various pictures representing different words. To hear a word, simply touch the corresponding picture with your finger. The book will pronounce the word, provide a fun fact, or play a relevant sound effect.

Bilingual Play (English/Spanish)

The book supports both English and Spanish languages. Locate the language switch on the side of the book. Slide the switch to select either English or Spanish. All words, songs, and instructions will then be played in the chosen language.

Fun Sounds Mode

In addition to learning words, the book features a "Fun Sounds" mode. Touch the pictures to hear silly sound effects. This mode provides an alternative interactive experience.

Learning Songs

Press the light-up star button located on the right side of the book to hear two engaging learning songs. This button also activates the Learning Friends theme song and "My Favorite Word" song.
