3. Basic Flash Control (TTL/Manual)

  • TTL Mode: Press the 'MODE' button to cycle through modes until 'TTL' is displayed for the desired group. The transmitter will automatically adjust flash power based on camera metering.
  • Manual Mode: Press the 'MODE' button to select 'M' for manual control. Use the dial to adjust the flash power output (e.g., 1/1 to 1/256).

4. Group Management

The R2 Pro supports up to 5 groups (A, B, C, D, E). Press the corresponding group button to select it, then use the 'MODE' button and dial to adjust its settings independently. The LCD screen displays all 5 groups simultaneously for quick overview.

5. High-Speed Sync (HSS)

To enable High-Speed Sync, ensure your camera and flash units support HSS. The transmitter will automatically activate HSS when the camera's shutter speed exceeds its maximum flash sync speed (e.g., 1/250s).

6. TCM Function

The TCM (TTL Converted to Manual) function allows you to take a TTL reading and then convert that power output to a manual setting. This is useful for maintaining consistent exposure when moving from TTL to manual mode. Press the 'TCM' button to activate this feature.

7. Channel Selection

The transmitter supports 32 channels to prevent interference. To change the channel, press the 'CH/Zm' button and use the dial to select the desired channel. Ensure your flash units are set to the same channel as the transmitter.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning

Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the transmitter. For stubborn marks, a slightly damp cloth with mild soap can be used, followed by a dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Keep the hot shoe contacts clean and free of debris.

2. Storage

When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the transmitter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the original packaging or a protective case to prevent dust and physical damage.

3. Firmware Updates

Periodically check the Flashpoint official website for available firmware updates. Firmware updates can improve performance, add new features, or resolve bugs. Follow the instructions provided with the firmware download carefully to perform the update via the USB-C port.
