1. Safety Instructions

Please read and understand all safety instructions before operating the EBERTH AH1-20A heater. Failure to follow these instructions may result in fire, electric shock, serious injury, or death.

  • Ventilation: Always ensure adequate ventilation when operating the heater. This unit produces combustion by-products, including carbon monoxide, which can be fatal in enclosed spaces.
  • Flammable Materials: Keep the heater at a safe distance from all flammable materials (e.g., wood, paper, fabrics, chemicals). Maintain a minimum clearance of 1 meter (3 feet) from the front, sides, and top.
  • Fuel: Use only diesel or heating oil as fuel. Never use gasoline, kerosene, or other volatile fuels.
  • Electrical Connection: Connect the heater only to a properly grounded 230V power outlet. Do not use extension cords unless absolutely necessary, and ensure they are rated for the heater's power requirements.
  • Supervision: Never leave the operating heater unattended.
  • Children and Pets: Keep children and pets away from the heater during operation and while it is cooling down.
  • Hot Surfaces: The heater's surfaces become very hot during operation. Avoid direct contact to prevent burns.
  • Overheat Protection: The unit is equipped with overheat protection. If the heater shuts off unexpectedly, allow it to cool down before attempting to restart.
  • Flame Safety: An electronic flame safety system is integrated to ensure safe operation.

3. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your EBERTH AH1-20A heater for first use or after transport.

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the heater from its packaging. Inspect for any shipping damage. Report any damage to your supplier immediately.
  2. Placement: Place the heater on a stable, level, non-combustible surface. Ensure there is ample clearance from walls, ceilings, and all flammable materials as specified in the safety instructions. The area must be well-ventilated.
  3. Fueling: Unscrew the fuel cap (Figure 2.7). Fill the 19-liter fuel tank with clean diesel or heating oil. Do not overfill. The fuel level indicator (Figure 2.5) will show the current fuel volume. Securely replace the fuel cap.
  4. Electrical Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded 230V electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is capable of handling the heater's power requirements.

4. Operating Instructions

Operating the EBERTH AH1-20A is straightforward. Always ensure proper setup and safety precautions are in place before starting.

  1. Starting the Heater: Once fueled and connected to power, press the main power switch (Figure 2.6) to the 'ON' position. The heater will initiate its ignition sequence.
  2. Initial Operation: The heater will begin to produce heat within minutes. The integrated fan will powerfully blow warm air through the hot barrel.
  3. Continuous Operation: The heater is designed for continuous, efficient operation. It will always heat at full power (20 kW).
  4. Fuel Consumption: At maximum temperature, the heater consumes approximately 1.87 liters of fuel per hour, providing up to 10 hours of operation on a full 19-liter tank.
  5. Shutting Down: To turn off the heater, press the main power switch to the 'OFF' position. The fan may continue to run for a short period to cool down the combustion chamber.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your EBERTH AH1-20A heater.

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the heater with a damp cloth. Ensure the air intake and exhaust grilles are free from dust and debris to maintain optimal airflow.
  • Fuel Filter: Check the fuel filter regularly for contaminants. Clean or replace if necessary to ensure proper fuel flow and prevent clogging.
  • Storage: When storing the heater for extended periods, ensure the fuel tank is empty and the unit is clean and dry. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your EBERTH AH1-20A heater, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
