2. General Safety Instructions

Always follow basic safety precautions to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and personal injury. Keep this manual accessible for all users.

  • Work Area Safety: Keep the work area clean and well-lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases, or dust.
  • Electrical Safety: Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges, and refrigerators.
  • Personal Safety: Always wear eye protection. Use hearing protection when operating power tools for extended periods. Dress properly; do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep hair, clothing, and gloves away from moving parts.
  • Tool Use and Care: Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools.
  • Maintenance: Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts, and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation.

4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the tool for any damage that may have occurred during shipping.
  2. Bit Installation:
    • Ensure the trimmer is unplugged from the power source.
    • Loosen the collet nut using the provided wrench (if applicable).
    • Insert the desired 6mm flush trim bit into the collet, ensuring it is seated deeply enough to prevent slippage but not bottomed out.
    • Tighten the collet nut securely with the wrench. Do not overtighten.
  3. Depth Adjustment:
    • Place the trimmer on a flat surface with the bit touching the surface.
    • Adjust the base of the trimmer to achieve the desired cutting depth. Refer to the adjustment mechanism on your specific unit (typically a knob or lever).
    • Secure the depth adjustment firmly before operation.

5. Operating Instructions

Before starting, ensure your work piece is securely clamped and you are wearing appropriate safety gear.

  1. Power Connection: Plug the trimmer into a suitable power outlet (Corded Electric).
  2. Starting the Trimmer: Turn on the trimmer using the power switch. Allow the motor to reach full speed (30000 RPM) before making contact with the workpiece.
  3. Trimming Operation:
    • Hold the trimmer firmly with both hands.
    • Guide the trimmer smoothly along the edge of the workpiece. For flush trimming, ensure the bearing on the bit follows the guide edge.
    • Apply steady, even pressure. Avoid forcing the tool, as this can lead to poor cuts and potential kickback.
    • Make multiple shallow passes for deeper cuts to reduce strain on the tool and improve cut quality.
  4. Stopping the Trimmer: Turn off the power switch and wait for the bit to come to a complete stop before setting the tool down.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your trimmer.

  • Cleaning: After each use, unplug the tool and use a brush or compressed air to remove sawdust and debris from the motor vents and around the collet area.
  • Bit Care: Keep router bits sharp and clean. Dull bits can cause overheating and poor cutting performance.
  • Cord Inspection: Regularly inspect the power cord for any signs of damage, cuts, or fraying. Replace damaged cords immediately.
  • Storage: Store the trimmer in a clean, dry place, out of reach of children.
