Introduction
The Cressi Liberty Triside mask is designed for both scuba diving and snorkeling, offering a wide, panoramic view. It features a mono front lens complemented by two side lenses, ensuring an unobstructed field of vision. The lenses are made from tempered glass for clarity and durability. The skirt is constructed from hypoallergenic silicone, providing comfort and a secure seal. Adjusting the strap length is made easy with push-button buckles, even when wearing gloves. The mask's frame incorporates a painted effect for an elegant appearance. This product is designed by Cressi and manufactured in Taiwan.

Setup and Initial Preparation
1. Initial Cleaning (New Mask)
Before first use, new masks often have a thin silicone film on the inside of the lenses from the manufacturing process, which can cause fogging. To remove this film, gently rub the inside of the lenses with a non-abrasive toothpaste (not gel) or a specialized mask defogger. Rinse thoroughly with fresh water.
2. Adjusting the Strap
Place the mask on your face without the strap over your head. Inhale gently through your nose; the mask should suction to your face without needing to hold it. If it doesn't, adjust the strap. The strap should rest comfortably around the back of your head, above your ears. Use the push-button swivel buckles on each side of the mask to adjust the strap length. Press the buttons to loosen or tighten the strap until the mask fits snugly but not uncomfortably tight. An overly tight strap can cause leaks and discomfort.

3. Checking for a Proper Seal
With the mask on your face and the strap adjusted, ensure the silicone skirt forms a complete seal around your face. No hair should be caught under the skirt, as this can break the seal and cause leaks. If you have facial hair, you may need to apply a thin layer of petroleum jelly to the edges of the skirt to improve the seal.
Operating Instructions
1. Wearing the Mask
Once the strap is adjusted, place the mask gently on your face, ensuring the skirt is flat against your skin. Pull the strap over the back of your head. The mask should feel secure but not overly tight. The goal is a comfortable, watertight seal.

2. Equalizing Pressure
When diving or snorkeling to depth, pressure changes can cause discomfort in your ears and mask. To equalize pressure in your ears, pinch your nose through the mask's nose pocket and gently blow through your nose. This helps to equalize the pressure in your middle ear. To equalize pressure in the mask, exhale a small amount of air through your nose into the mask. This prevents mask squeeze.
3. Clearing Water from the Mask
If water enters your mask, you can clear it underwater. While looking upwards, press the top of the mask firmly against your forehead and exhale slowly through your nose. The exhaled air will push the water out from the bottom of the mask. Practice this in shallow water before attempting it at depth.

Maintenance
1. Rinsing After Use
After each use, rinse your mask thoroughly with fresh, clean water. This removes salt, chlorine, and other debris that can degrade the silicone and lenses over time. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
2. Drying and Storage
Allow the mask to air dry completely in a cool, shaded area, away from direct sunlight. Store the mask in its original protective case or a dedicated mask box to prevent scratches to the lenses and damage to the silicone skirt. Avoid storing it with other gear that could compress or deform the skirt.

3. Anti-Fogging Tips
Even after initial cleaning, masks can fog. Before each use, apply a small amount of commercial anti-fog solution or a drop of baby shampoo (diluted with water) to the inside of the lenses. Rub it gently, then rinse lightly with water. This creates a thin film that prevents condensation from forming droplets.
Troubleshooting
Mask Leaks
- Check Strap Adjustment: Ensure the strap is snug but not overly tight. An overtightened strap can distort the silicone skirt and cause leaks.
- Clear Hair/Obstructions: Make sure no hair, wetsuit, or other objects are caught under the mask's skirt. Even a single strand of hair can break the seal.
- Proper Placement: Ensure the mask is centered on your face and the skirt is evenly seated around your facial contours.
- Facial Hair: If you have a mustache or beard, consider applying a thin layer of silicone grease or petroleum jelly to the area where the skirt meets your skin to improve the seal.
Mask Fogs Up
- Initial Cleaning: If it's a new mask, ensure you've performed the initial cleaning to remove manufacturing residues (see Setup section).
- Anti-Fog Application: Apply a commercial anti-fog solution or a diluted baby shampoo to the inside of the lenses before each use.
- Rinse Properly: After applying anti-fog, rinse lightly. Too much rinsing can wash away the anti-fog layer.
- Avoid Touching Lenses: Do not touch the inside of the lenses with your fingers, as oils from your skin can cause fogging.
