3. Product Overview

Familiarize yourself with the main components and controls of your BT-S3 intercom unit:

• Power/Intercom Button: Used for powering on/off and initiating/ending intercom calls.
• Phone Button: Used for answering/ending phone calls, redialing, and activating voice assistant.

4. Installation Guide

The BT-S3 intercom system can be installed on most full-face and half-face helmets using either the clamp unit or the velcro pad.

4.1 Mounting the Intercom Unit

1. Choose Mounting Method: Decide between the clamp unit (more secure, requires helmet edge) or the velcro pad (easier, suitable for helmets without a suitable edge).
2. Attach Clamp Unit (if chosen): Loosen the screws on the clamp unit. Slide the clamp onto the left side of your helmet shell, ensuring it is firmly in place. Tighten the screws with the provided wrench.
3. Attach Velcro Pad (if chosen): Clean the desired mounting area on the left side of your helmet. Peel the adhesive backing from the velcro pad and firmly press it onto the helmet.
4. Secure Intercom Unit: Slide the BT-S3 intercom unit onto the mounted clamp or press it onto the velcro pad until it clicks securely into place.

4.2 Installing Speakers and Microphone

1. Speaker Placement: Attach the speakers inside the helmet, aligning them with your ears. Most helmets have designated pockets for speakers. Use the adhesive velcro pads on the back of the speakers to secure them.
2. Microphone Placement: For full-face helmets, attach the boom microphone to the inside of the chin bar, positioning it close to your mouth. For open-face helmets, attach the microphone to the inside of the cheek pad.
3. Cable Management: Route all cables neatly under the helmet's padding to avoid interference and ensure comfort.
4. Connect Cables: Plug the speaker and microphone cable into the appropriate jack on the BT-S3 intercom unit. Ensure the connection is firm.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

• Power On: Press and hold the Power/Intercom Button for approximately 3 seconds until the LED indicator flashes blue.
• Power Off: Press and hold the Power/Intercom Button for approximately 5 seconds until the LED indicator flashes red and then turns off.

5.2 Volume Control

• Increase Volume: Press the Volume Up/Next Track Button.
• Decrease Volume: Press the Volume Down/Previous Track Button.

5.3 Bluetooth Pairing (Phone/GPS)

The BT-S3 (Bluetooth name: BT-S3NS) can connect to your smartphone or GPS device via Bluetooth V5.0.

1. Enter Pairing Mode: With the device off, press and hold the Power/Intercom Button for approximately 5-7 seconds until the LED indicator flashes red and blue alternately.
2. Enable Bluetooth on Device: On your phone or GPS, enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
3. Select 'BT-S3NS': From the list of devices, select 'BT-S3NS' to pair. If prompted, enter '0000' as the PIN.
4. Pairing Confirmation: Once paired, the LED indicator will flash blue slowly.

5.4 Intercom Communication

The BT-S3 supports communication with up to 3 intercom units, with 2 units communicating simultaneously over a range of up to 1000 meters at speeds up to 120 km/h (environment dependent).

5.4.1 Pairing Intercom Units

1. Ensure both BT-S3 units are off.
2. On both units, press and hold the Power/Intercom Button for approximately 5-7 seconds until the LED indicators flash red and blue alternately.
3. Press the Power/Intercom Button on one of the units once. The units will search for each other.
4. Once paired, the LED indicators on both units will flash blue slowly.

5.4.2 Initiating/Ending Intercom Calls

• Initiate Intercom: Press the Power/Intercom Button once.
• End Intercom: Press the Power/Intercom Button once.

5.5 Phone Call Management

• Answer Call: Press the Phone Button once.
• End Call: Press the Phone Button once.
• Reject Call: Press and hold the Phone Button for 2 seconds.
• Redial Last Number: Press the Phone Button twice.

5.6 Music Playback

• Play/Pause: Press the Phone Button once.
• Next Track: Press the Volume Up/Next Track Button once.
• Previous Track: Press the Volume Down/Previous Track Button once.

5.7 FM Radio

• Turn On/Off FM Radio: Press the Phone Button twice quickly when not on a call or playing music.
• Scan Stations: Press the Volume Up/Next Track Button or Volume Down/Previous Track Button to change stations.
