2. Setup Instructions

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the DHC101 controller and its accessories from the packaging. Ensure all components are present: the main controller unit, the external humidity sensor probe, and the pre-wired power cables.
  2. Sensor Connection: Locate the small jack on the side of the controller unit. Insert the plug of the external humidity sensor probe firmly into this jack. Ensure a secure connection.

  4. Placement: Position the controller unit in a stable location. The unit can be hung using the integrated hanging hole or placed on a flat surface. Ensure the sensor probe is placed within the environment where humidity needs to be controlled, away from direct water spray or extreme temperatures that could affect its accuracy.
  5. Power Connection: Plug the controller's main power plug into a standard electrical outlet. The LED display will illuminate, showing the current humidity reading.
  6. Device Connection: Plug your humidifying or dehumidifying appliance (e.g., humidifier, dehumidifier, exhaust fan) into the pre-wired outlet on the DHC101 controller.

3. Operating Instructions

The DHC101 offers both humidification and dehumidification modes. The display shows the current humidity (PV), the set start humidity (SV), and the set stop humidity (DV).

Setting Humidity Parameters:

  1. Enter Setting Mode: Press and hold the SET button for 3 seconds to enter the parameter setting mode. The display will show 'F1'.
  2. Select Parameter: Use the UP or DOWN arrows to cycle through the parameters (F1, F2, F3, etc.).
  3. Adjust Value: Once the desired parameter (e.g., F1 for start humidity) is displayed, press SET again to view its current value. Use the UP or DOWN arrows to adjust the value.
  4. Save Setting: Press SET to confirm and save the new value.
  5. Exit Setting Mode: Press and hold SET for 3 seconds, or wait for 10 seconds without any button press, to exit the setting mode.

Key Parameters:

  • F1 (Start Humidity): Set the humidity percentage at which the connected device will activate.
  • F2 (Stop Humidity): Set the humidity percentage at which the connected device will deactivate.
  • F3 (Humidity Correction): Allows for calibration of the sensor reading if there is a known offset.
  • F4 (Delay Start Time): Sets a delay before the device activates, protecting compressors in certain appliances.
  • F5 (High Humidity Alarm): Set the upper humidity limit for an audible alarm.
  • F6 (Low Humidity Alarm): Set the lower humidity limit for an audible alarm.

The controller will automatically switch between humidification and dehumidification based on the F1 and F2 settings. If F1 < F2, it operates in humidification mode. If F1 > F2, it operates in dehumidification mode.

4. Maintenance

  • Sensor Care: The humidity sensor is sensitive. Avoid submerging it in water or exposing it to corrosive substances. If the sensor becomes dirty, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Cleaning the Unit: Wipe the main controller unit with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use strong detergents or solvents. Ensure the unit is unplugged before cleaning.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the DHC101 in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Display Not On: Ensure the controller is securely plugged into a working power outlet. Check the power source.
  • Inaccurate Humidity Reading:
    • Verify the sensor probe is correctly connected to the unit.
    • Check the sensor's placement; it should be in the environment to be controlled, not obstructed or in direct contact with moisture.
    • Consider using the F3 (Humidity Correction) parameter to fine-tune the reading if you have a reference hygrometer.
  • Device Not Activating/Deactivating:
    • Confirm that the connected appliance is functioning correctly and is plugged firmly into the controller's outlet.
    • Review your F1 (Start Humidity) and F2 (Stop Humidity) settings to ensure they are appropriate for your desired operation mode (humidification or dehumidification).
    • Check the F4 (Delay Start Time) setting; a delay might be preventing immediate activation.
  • Alarm Sounds Continuously:
    • The alarm indicates that the humidity has exceeded the F5 (High Humidity Alarm) or fallen below the F6 (Low Humidity Alarm) threshold.
    • Adjust your F5/F6 alarm settings if the current range is too narrow for your application, or address the environmental condition causing the humidity excursion.
