Operation

  1. Turn the switch on the melting pot to the 'Heat' (II) setting. The indicator light will illuminate.
  2. Allow the Candy Melts to heat and soften. Stir occasionally with a silicone spatula or spoon to ensure even melting.
  3. Once the candy is fully melted and smooth, switch the setting to 'Warm' (I) to maintain the desired consistency for dipping.
  4. Use the provided dipping tools (3-prong fork, spear, or cradling spoon) to dip your treats into the melted candy. Allow excess candy to drip off before placing treats on parchment paper to set.
  5. If the candy loses its consistency due to overheating or humidity, add 2 teaspoons of vegetable shortening per 12 oz. of candy and stir until smooth.

Troubleshooting

ProblemSolution
Candy is too thick or crumbly. This can occur if the candy is overheated or if liquid has accumulated due to humidity. Add 2 teaspoons of vegetable shortening per 12 oz. of candy and stir until the desired consistency is achieved.
Candy is not melting.Ensure the melting pot is plugged in and the switch is set to the 'Heat' (II) position. Allow sufficient time for the candy to melt, stirring occasionally.
Candy melted in the bag before use. This can happen in warmer temperatures. Simply follow the package directions for melting in the pot; the quality of the candy is not affected.
