Setup Guide

Connecting to Consoles (PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch)

  1. Locate the 3.5mm audio jack on your console controller or console.
  2. Insert the 3.5mm plug from the HyperX Cloud Stinger Core headset firmly into the audio jack.
  3. Ensure the connection is secure for optimal audio and microphone performance.

Connecting to PC/Laptop

The headset connects via a single 3.5mm 4-pole plug. If your PC or laptop has separate audio-out and microphone-in ports, a 4-pole Y-splitter (not included) will be required for full functionality.

  1. If your PC/laptop has a combined 3.5mm audio jack, plug the headset directly into it.
  2. If separate ports are present, connect the headset to the Y-splitter, then connect the splitter's audio and microphone plugs to the corresponding ports on your PC/laptop.
  3. Adjust audio settings in your operating system as needed.

Operating Instructions

Adjusting Headset Fit

The headset features an adjustable steel slider to accommodate various head sizes. Gently pull the earcups down or push them up along the headband to achieve a comfortable and secure fit.

Microphone Usage

The flexible, swiveling microphone allows for precise positioning. To mute the microphone, simply swivel the mic boom upwards until it clicks into the vertical position. Swivel it back down to unmute.

In-Line Audio Controls

The headset features convenient in-line audio controls on the cable for quick adjustments without navigating console menus.

  • Volume Wheel: Use the scroll wheel to increase or decrease the audio volume.
  • Microphone Mute Switch: Slide the switch to mute or unmute your microphone.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the headset. For ear cushions, a slightly damp cloth can be used, but avoid excessive moisture.
  • Storage: Store the headset in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Cable Care: Avoid sharp bends or excessive pulling on the cable to prevent damage.

Troubleshooting

No Audio or Low Volume

  • Ensure the 3.5mm plug is fully inserted into the audio jack.
  • Check the in-line volume wheel and turn it up.
  • Verify console/PC audio settings are correctly configured for headset output.
  • Test the headset with another device to rule out device-specific issues.

Microphone Not Working

  • Ensure the microphone boom is swiveled down to the unmuted position.
  • Check the in-line microphone mute switch to ensure it is not activated.
  • Verify console/PC microphone input settings are correctly configured.
  • If using with PC/laptop, confirm if a 4-pole Y-splitter is needed and correctly connected.
