2. Wire Connection

Identify the three main wires from the hardwire kit module:

  • Black Wire: Connects to the vehicle's ground point.
  • Red Wire: Connects to an ACC (Accessory) fuse in the vehicle's fuse box. This fuse is only powered when the ignition is on.
  • Yellow Wire: Connects to a 12V normal power (constant power) fuse in the vehicle's fuse box. This fuse is always powered, even when the ignition is off.

3. Fuse Box Connection

Locate your vehicle's fuse box. This is typically found under the dashboard, in the glove compartment, or in the engine bay. Use the provided fuse tap cables to connect the red and yellow wires to the appropriate fuses. Ensure you select a fuse that matches the function (ACC or constant power) and that the fuse tap is inserted correctly.

4. Low Voltage Cut-off Adjustment

The hardwire kit features adjustable low voltage protection to prevent your vehicle's battery from draining. To adjust the cut-off voltage:

  1. Press and hold any button on the module for 3 seconds to turn on the LED display.
  2. Press the '+' or '-' buttons to adjust the desired cut-off voltage.
  3. The LED will flash 3 times to confirm your setting.

The default voltage values are 11.5V, 11.8V, and 12.0V for 12V systems. The adjustable range is 11V-13V. A common recommended setting is 11.8V.

Operating Instructions

1. Automatic Recording

Once installed, the hardwire kit will automatically power your dash cam. When the vehicle is started or opened, the dash cam will power on and begin recording. When the vehicle is turned off, the kit will continue to supply power for parking monitoring.

2. 24-Hour Parking Monitoring

The continuous power supply from the hardwire kit enables your dash cam's parking monitor function. If your dash cam supports it, it will automatically switch to time-lapse or continuous recording mode when the vehicle is parked, providing surveillance even when the engine is off.

Maintenance

The PRUVEEO Smart ACC Hardwire Kit requires minimal maintenance. Periodically check all connections to ensure they remain secure. Inspect the wiring for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure the fuse taps are firmly seated in the fuse box. Keep the module clean and free from dust or debris.

Troubleshooting

Dash Cam Does Not Power On

  • Check Connections: Ensure all wires (black, red, yellow) are securely connected to their respective points.
  • Verify Fuses: Check the fuses in the fuse taps and the original fuses in your vehicle's fuse box. Replace any blown fuses.
  • USB Connection: Ensure the USB cable from the hardwire kit is properly connected to your dash cam.

Vehicle Battery Drains

  • Low Voltage Cut-off Setting: Verify that the low voltage cut-off setting is appropriate for your vehicle's battery. A setting of 11.8V is generally recommended for 12V systems.
  • Fuse Tap Placement: Ensure the yellow wire is connected to a constant power fuse and the red wire to an ACC fuse. Incorrect placement can lead to continuous power draw when not intended.

Parking Monitor Not Working

  • Dash Cam Settings: Confirm that the parking monitor feature is enabled in your dash cam's settings.
  • Constant Power: Ensure the yellow wire of the hardwire kit is connected to a constant power source in the fuse box.

Compatibility Issues

Some vehicle fuse boxes may have specific configurations (e.g., multiple relays around fuses) that can make installation challenging or require different fuse tap types. If you encounter difficulties, professional installation may be necessary.
