Important Safety Instructions

- The hob-proof pot is suitable for use on gas and electric hobs, but not induction hobs.

Setup and First Use
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the slow cooker from its packaging. Retain the packaging for future storage or transport.
- Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash the hob-proof cooking pot and glass lid in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the exterior of the base unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the base unit in water.
- Placement: Place the slow cooker on a stable, heat-resistant, and dry surface, away from the edge of the counter. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the appliance.
- Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a suitable electrical outlet. The digital display will illuminate.
Operating Instructions
1. Searing Ingredients (Optional)
One of the key features of your Sear and Stew slow cooker is the ability to sear ingredients directly in the cooking pot on your hob before slow cooking. This helps to lock in flavors and achieve a richer taste.
- Remove the cooking pot from the base unit.
- Place the cooking pot directly onto a gas or electric hob burner. Note: This pot is not suitable for induction hobs.
- Add a small amount of oil or fat and sear your meat or vegetables as desired.
- Once searing is complete, carefully remove the hot pot from the hob using oven mitts.
- Place the hot cooking pot back into the slow cooker base unit.

2. Slow Cooking
- Add Ingredients: After searing (if applicable), add all remaining ingredients to the cooking pot. Ensure the total volume does not exceed the maximum fill line.
- Place Lid: Position the glass lid securely on the cooking pot.
- Select Mode: Press the MODE button to cycle between HIGH and LOW cooking settings. The selected setting will illuminate on the digital display.
- HIGH: For faster cooking, typically 4-6 hours.
- LOW: For slower cooking, typically 8-12 hours.
- Set Timer: Use the UP and DOWN buttons to set the desired cooking time in hours. The timer can be set from 2 to 12 hours.

- Start Cooking: Press the START/STOP button to begin the cooking process. The "POWER" indicator will illuminate. The timer will count down.
- Keep Warm Function: Once the set cooking time has elapsed, the slow cooker will automatically switch to the "KEEP WARM" setting. The "WARM" indicator will illuminate, and the timer will start counting up to indicate how long it has been in warm mode. This function is designed to keep food at a safe serving temperature for up to 4 hours.
- Stop Cooking: To stop cooking at any time, press the START/STOP button.
- Serving: Carefully remove the lid, allowing steam to escape away from you. Serve food directly from the pot or transfer to serving dishes.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Proper cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your slow cooker.
- Unplug and Cool: Always unplug the slow cooker from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Cooking Pot and Lid: The hob-proof cooking pot and glass lid are dishwasher safe for easy cleaning. Alternatively, they can be washed by hand in warm, soapy water using a non-abrasive sponge or cloth. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.

- Base Unit: Wipe the exterior of the base unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Never immerse the base unit in water or any other liquid.
- Storage: Ensure all parts are clean and dry before storing. Store the slow cooker in a cool, dry place.
- Utensils: To protect the non-stick coating of the cooking pot, use only wooden, plastic, or silicone utensils. Avoid metal utensils that can scratch the surface.
