Setup Instructions
Site Preparation
Select a level area for pool installation. Proper ground leveling is crucial for the pool's stability and longevity. Uneven ground can cause structural issues and potential water leakage.
Assembly
The Bestway Power Steel pool features a superior steel frame design engineered for maximum strength and durability. Assembly is designed to be minimal-tool. Follow the included detailed instructions for connecting the frame components. Ensure all connections are secure before proceeding.
The pool set includes a ladder for safe entry and exit. Assemble the ladder according to its specific instructions and place it securely against the pool wall.
A ground cloth is provided to protect the pool liner from punctures and abrasions. Lay the ground cloth flat in the prepared area before placing the pool liner.
Once the frame is assembled and the liner is in place, begin filling the pool with water. As the pool fills, the sides will naturally bow outwards; they will even out as the water level reaches approximately 90% capacity.

Operating Your Pool
Filter Pump Operation
The pool includes a 1000-gallon filter pump to maintain water clarity. Connect the filter pump according to the provided diagrams. Ensure all flow control connectors are rapidly and securely connected to prevent leaks.
Operate the filter pump daily for several hours to ensure adequate water circulation and filtration. Refer to the pump's specific manual for detailed operating times based on pool size and usage.
Water Capacity
The water capacity at 90% is approximately 2,893 gallons (11,834 Liters). Do not overfill the pool.
Maintenance
Water Chemistry
Regular testing and adjustment of water chemistry are essential for a safe and clean swimming environment. Maintain appropriate levels of chlorine, pH, and alkalinity.
Filter Cartridge
The filter pump uses Type III or A/C replacement cartridges. Regularly clean and replace the filter cartridge to ensure efficient filtration. A dirty filter can reduce pump performance and water quality.
Draining the Pool
The pool features a flow control drain valve for easy draining. Attach a garden hose to the drain valve and direct the water to a suitable drainage area, away from the house foundation or electrical outlets.
Cleaning
Use a pool skimmer to remove debris from the water surface. A pool vacuum can be used to clean the bottom of the pool.
Repairs
A heavy-duty repair patch is included for minor punctures or tears in the pool liner. Follow the instructions provided with the patch kit for effective repairs.
Winterization
For regions with freezing temperatures, the pool must be properly winterized and stored. This typically involves draining the pool, cleaning the liner, disassembling the frame, and storing components in a dry, protected area.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Water Leakage
- Issue: Small holes or tears in the liner causing water leakage.
- Solution: Use the provided heavy-duty repair patch. Ensure the area is clean and dry before applying the patch. For leaks around connections, check that all hoses and clamps are securely tightened.
Inefficient Filter Pump
- Issue: The filter pump is not effectively cleaning the water or has stopped working.
- Solution: Check the filter cartridge for clogging and clean or replace it as necessary. Ensure the pump is properly connected and receiving power. Verify that the water flow is not obstructed. If the pump is new and not functioning, contact Bestway customer support.
Unstable Pool Structure
- Issue: Pool sides bowing excessively or appearing unstable.
- Solution: This can occur if the ground is not perfectly level. Ensure the pool is installed on a completely flat surface. The sides will naturally bow slightly when filling but should stabilize once full. If bowing persists or is severe, drain the pool and re-level the installation area.
