2. Physical Connection
- Connect to Network: Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the WAN port of the HT818 and the other end into your internet router or modem.

3. Initial Configuration Access
To access the web configuration interface:
- Ensure your computer is connected to the same local network as the HT818 (either directly to a LAN port on the HT818 if using it as a router, or to your main router if the HT818 is connected to it).
- Open a web browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox).
- Locate the IP address of the HT818. This can often be found via your main router's DHCP client list, or by using a network scanning tool. Alternatively, you can dial *** on a connected analog phone and then dial 02 to hear the IP address.
- Enter the HT818's IP address into the browser's address bar and press Enter.
- Log in using the default username "admin" and the password found on the sticker at the bottom of the device.
Note: It is highly recommended to change the default password after initial login for security purposes.
Operating Instructions
Making and Receiving Calls
Once the HT818 is configured with your VoIP service provider, making and receiving calls is similar to using a traditional phone line:
- To Make a Call: Pick up the handset of the analog phone connected to an FXS port. You should hear a dial tone. Dial the desired phone number and wait for the connection.
- To Receive a Call: When your phone rings, pick up the handset to answer the call.
- 3-Way Conferencing: During an active call, press the Flash button (or equivalent on your analog phone), dial the third party's number, and once connected, press Flash again to merge the calls.
Fax Operation (Fax-over-IP)
The HT818 supports Fax-over-IP (T.38 protocol) for reliable fax transmission over your VoIP connection. For optimal performance:
- Ensure your VoIP service provider supports T.38 faxing.
- Connect your fax machine to one of the FXS ports.
- Configure the T.38 settings in the HT818's web interface as per your service provider's recommendations.
- Use a lower baud rate (e.g., 9600 bps) on your fax machine if you experience issues.
